KFDM COOP Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 There was only one practice this week in pads - Tuesday - after the two open practices last Friday and Saturday. But some consistency is starting to show already from certain players. Earl Thomas only improved on his performance in the practices without pads in Tuesday's practice. Sources close to the team say Thomas is putting the work and is emerging not only as a top playmaker (who will only be a sophomore in 2009) but also as a leader. One source told me Thomas has taken over where Ryan Palmer left off as a leader in the secondary. That source said Thomas made plays on Tuesday with the pads on that "were legit." "Earl's gotten everyone's attention already, and (Will) Muschamp and (Duane) Akina are really pleased with his work in the off-season and so far in practices. The other good thing about Earl is he isn't afraid to call anyone out. That's how Ryan (Palmer) was, and with some of the other players in the secondary still unproven, Earl is the voice that everyone is listening to. Plus he plays through the whistle every play."
Gabe Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Shouldn't surprise anyone. Keep it up Earl and you will hear your name called at a NFL draft in a few years.

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 i think he might be a jim thorpe award finalist, if not the winner, this year.
McLovin Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 He should have been a finalist this year!!! The kid is sick! He did nothing but roam the secondary last year like his name was Mr. Hit-Stick! He'll definitely tear 'em up this year.
Gabe Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I was at a local tavern last night (hey don't judge me LOL) and a guy claiming to be a huge UT fan and talking all this noise did not know which one Earl was and was asking what number he is. I stripped him of his Horns.
McLovin Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 lol...did he argue that #12 was Colt McCoy when you told him E.T.'s number? ;D

McLovin Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 What an idiot. Maybe you should've watched more than one UT before you made asinine remarks about a truly great DB.
stang4life Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Did someone disable the spellcheck button? Go Earl! Keep it up. Hope to see the UT vs. TT game this year and see you and Deon vs. Colby!!
lilheeb Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 i remember watching espn one day right after the bowls were over and they said name one defensive player of next year to watch out for and one of them named earl and they compared him to bob sanders witch is great maybe the cowboys could pick him one day or the texans and keep him in texas but he is most likely a top 10 pick
Lucky Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 No question that if he stays healthy, he will be playin on Sundays in the future!
kicker Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 The only bad thing, is that he might end up being a Detroit Lion. haha. Seems like that is where all the good Longhorns go.
