PN-G_Soccer09 Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 just list a few of the best defenders in the area...
soccerr3 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 guys washburn from nederland...guessing theres a relation there but their whole back line is pretty solid angelle(sp?) from port neches... havent been able to catch many guys games this year lumberton girls have a few good defenders and kellys madeline horning i think is her name impressed me
RonBurgundy68 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Check out a guy from Vidor by the name of Jacob Grant (#2)... Pretty solid
Guest setxgal Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 guys washburn from nederland...guessing theres a relation there but their whole back line is pretty solid Ladies: Washburn - Nederland ;D ;D
Rebel2 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Randi Payne of Lumberton is pretty good. Four year all district starter. (I'm assuming she will make all disteict again this year)
Guest setxgal Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 yep Payne is pretty awesome.....cool how some of the best defenders have played and trained together
Islander Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I'll go to battle with the entire LC-M Bears' backline any day of the week. Colt Arteaga, Brett Heil, and Darrell Lawrence are all very talented and possess great instincts. They usually dribble around the forward that they stole the ball from.
CoachL Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 well i guess ill throw my 2 cents in: : Lumbertons defense has only given up 17 goals all season (24 games) In district we have only given up 6 (Schexnider has only given up 4). Our defense is led by Garret Duhon (senior) and Mark Murrill (senior) and Jesse Sparks (junior) and freshman Jordan Granato. These guys have played well all year long and have not given up more than 2 goals in any one game and have had 9 shuouts.
Rebel2 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Come to think about it, the back line of Lumberton girls team, Seniors, Haley Corely, Ashley Mauer, Randi Payne, and Vanessa Anderson is about as good as there is in the Golden Triangle area.
weasel Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 PNG Girls "D" is incredible....even though we have the best goalie in the area....to get to her is a chore....Coach Bates has always had one of the best defensive teams in the area and this year it shows....
soccerman Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Vidors Jacob Grant is a great defender. Lumberton has some good defenders as well. I think its pretty even between Vidor and Lumberton defenses.
NSDX2 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Taylor Carlson - Nederland over looked but rarely beat and she can score as well
Solo Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 I'll go to battle with the entire LC-M Bears' backline any day of the week. Colt Arteaga, Brett Heil, and Darrell Lawrence are all very talented and possess great instincts. They usually dribble around the forward that they stole the ball from. Brett Heil is awesome. He comes to play every game, has the physical abilities, and is a smart player. Plus he is a good kid.
hj_hawk_60 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 HJ's defense is a lot better than the scores indicate... Josh Kerl (So.) (Goalie) Alex West (Sr.) (Sweeper) (#8) Adam Louis (Fr.) (Right Back) (#14) Ryan McCarthy (Jr.) (Center Defense) (#19 i think) John Boles (Sr.) (Left Back) (#20) Chris Brown (Jr.) (Defensive Center-Mid/Stopper) (#5)
Bon_Mot Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Nederland played two games against each of the following opponents: PA Memorial, Vidor, LCM, PNG, Central, and Ozen, and one game against Lumberton and Kelly. In those 14 games against these local teams Nederland gave up TWO TOTAL GOALS. That's a Goals Against average of 0.14.
Newcastle Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Im proud to say the TC Scalfano had one of those goals!!! Without a doubt Nederlands back four plus keeper...very tough, now throw in that their mids defend VERY well and you see why in district play they only had one goal scored on them.
PN-G_Soccer09 Posted March 18, 2009 Author Report Posted March 18, 2009 well to be honest i think that our whole defensive line is doing amazingly...im a forward that has never played anything but forward and hve been filling in all season...i mean we have Zimmerman, Lassaigne, Halbert, and Benton all giving 100% with no subs
