Guest beat-em_deep Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 I like fresh and even if its after spawn during post spawn just drag a carolina rig off deep points and brush piles and you can catch em! Last year I carolina rigged a deep diver crank bait..........used a 1 ounce weight and adjusted leader to about 4 ft off bottom. It makes the crank bait stay there because it floats......works well in the summer hmmmm might have to try that out!

thetragichippy Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 Toledo was puzzling! Beautiful weather (except for the 30 mph gust)...........not many fish. Last week the water was stained from the rain, this week it was good except around the mill creek area. most fisherman I spoke with said the spawn was over. I'm not 100% sure myself, but did not see any fish on beds. If it is over, it was a short spawn. I still caught a few fish in 4 - 6 ft of water. It was spinner baits and Texas rigged worms. Tried wacky with no success. Did catch enough to have a small fish fry, but nothing to brag about. The largest fish was about 3 1/2 lbs...........
