Smith was a chemical engineering major. Smith is giving Lamar $5 million to the college of engineering and the university in honor of the donation will name the department for him. In addition Smith is giving $1 million to the football program and the new press box will be name after him and his wife. Initially the university announced that the donation would be the largest in the institutions history. Now that is a good one! However, I would rather one of the commodes be named after him so patrons can pay more suitable homage to him!
