KFDM COOP Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 BC, WO-S sending five lifters to State Meet Van Wade The Orange Leader Bridge City will have three represenatives and West Orange-Stark will have two competing in the Class 3A State Powerlifting Meet March 28 . WO-S will send both Eric Arnold and Robert Jiles. Arnold placed second in the 242-pound division at the regional meet in Cleveland last Saturday. Meanwhile, Jiles was second in the 181-pound division. Kory Freeman finished a solid fourth in the 181-pound class while Terry Rubin nabbed fifth in the 165-pound division. The Bridge City Boys Powerlifting Team participated in Cleveland as well and placed third in the team standings. In the 132-pound class Trent Meyers was second with a total lift of 970 pounds and Jerry Nguyen placed third with a total lift of 960. In the 148-pound class Bridge City’s defending champ from last year (132-pound class), Tim Sharp, was second with a total lift of 1,295. Sharp also received the Outstanding Squatter – Light Platform award. Shane Stankus was first for the Cards in the 220-pound class with a total lift of 1,320. Meyers, Sharp and Stankus will be headed to Abilene for the state meet to be held March 28.
