Dayton seems to have a lot of talent, not sure coach is got his rotation or position players quite right

I think Walters is probably the best pitcher as far as velocity goes and dont know who else you could fit in our lineup.we are pretty good 1-5 in the order and then it drops off a little.So I dont know what you mean by the lineup or rotation.

Frank had some tenderness in his bicep--probably from lifting. The doc said not pitching related but he needed 7-10 days rest from working it the reason for the time off---velocity will be there Friday night

Position players are people on defense. There is more to a game than offense. I was not refering to the pitching.

i agree i was at that game and they said his fastball topped out at 85.hopefully we will see more of the same

That is what every coach loves to hear right there. In baseball alone you don't have to be throwing 90 to be a great pitcher you need to mix it up and keep hitters off balance. I threw mid 80's in high school way back when in 4a and it proved to be successful enough to let me play college ball.

I could not agree more but it sure would be nice to bring one in every now and then at 92-93

When I got to college I added velocity I threw consistantly upper 80's to low 90's and could reach back and throw mid 90's. Kids in high school need to work on hitting spots then start adding velocity. 92-95 right down the middle will get crushed later on down the road.

I really dont think that there is anyone in our district throwing 90.but we do have a bunch of good pitchers with decent velocity who do mix it up very well

Thanks..."JR" doing ok. Threw 6 innings against Navarro on Wed.   2 earned, 1 unearned, no decision. I think he's figured out that it ain't 19-4A anymore.  ;D

Smesney was 86-88 mph early last night. Hardest thrower we have seen thus far. If he's your #2, the other kid must be something else.
