Guest patriot117 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Dayton 10 GCM 7 Dayton starting pitcher Frank Smesney goes 6 strong innings allowing only 1 hit and 2 baserunners while striking out 11 Patriots. Smesney would tire in the 7th and the young Patriots would battle back to score 7 runs in the home half of the inning. The rally was ignited by Josh Stuart's rbi double. The Goose would score 5 runs with two outs and left the tying run at the plate. Patriot starter Price Jacobs went 5 2/3 innings allowing 8 runs on 6 hits with 5 walks and 4 k's. The Bronco's put a 4 spot on the board in the top of the 1st. Jacobs settled in, but would leave with two outs in the 5th after Bronco Moises Herrera tagged him with a 3 run bomb to close the book on the sophomore. Daytin improves to 1-1 in 19-4A, GCM falls to 1-1.
