WVU would probably be a middle of the pack tennis team in the SLC, but it sure does get the boosters riled up to see you beat THE West Virginia University in a sport.

The key to college athletics for the Title IX and Olympic sports is scheduling beatable "big name" schools in out of conference play. I really think it goes a long way.  ;D

It was not a LU thing - it was a general thing and how wins over BCS squads in any sport (regardless of how good/bad they are) gets much more attention for those sports than conference wins.
