WO-S survives Silsbee in crazy 10-inning affair, 9-8

The Orange Leader

It took until almost Tuesday for the West Orange-Stark Mustangs to finish off an improbable comeback against the Silsbee Tigers.

The Mustangs only came up with two hits yet defeated the Tigers 9-8 in 10 innings after Silsbee walked 18 WO-S batters.

Jordan Darnall stole home to win the game in the bottom of the 10th.

The Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Mustangs started to chip away.

Silsbee allowed WO-S 22 free passes to first in the game.

Whats the deal with all the balks?  Ive never seen that many called in one game.

I hope the young guns of Silsbee dont stay down on this one.  Learn from it and move on. Ya aint gettn this one back.

I can't decide if I'm glad I missed it or not. That many walks would drive me nuts and that's not a far trip. At least the Mustangs hung in there and didn't give up. I bet Coach Trawhon was having a fit with the walks, HBP's and the balks. Congrats Mustangs. Hang in there Tigers.
