Jacob Felts,Orangefield, Jr

I would say one of the top 10 catchers in the state. 5A-TAPPS, it don't matter.

Don't know his stats, don't need to.

Best hitting catcher hands down is Jake Ponder from Barber's Hill

Are you talking overall average or slugging %?  I would still put Felts over Ponder.

hazlewood from kirbyville was an all district catcher as a freshman in the 2006 season. then he just kinda took off his sophomore and junior year? replaced, you could say that. but he's the ace pitcher now.

he could have been a stand out player if sticking with it would have been an obligation. say-la-vi

Seems like i remember a person from Nederland mentioning Jacob Felts last year.  ;D. All State Sophomore year. Look up Team Player in Dictionary, there you will find a portrait of Jacob.

Sheppard from Buna is among the best in setx behind the plate. Felts from OF deserves some credit too.

Billy Nichols from Evadale is a great game manager.

If it gets past Billy, it is a really wild pitch.

Only a sophomore (like a good percentage of the Rebels), but he is accurate to second, a quick release and is never more than a step behind a batter on his way to first on a ground ball in the infield.

Billy Nichols from Evadale is a beast behind the plate. This kid could play anywhere on the field and start!!

He is an athlete!

BC has two good ones--an older one with a tremendous bat and a Freshman Matt Menard with all the credentials-- including speed on the base-running.

the "older" one's name is Grant Encalade. All he does is come up with big hits. He had two game winning hits in two at bats at one point.

Look at this kids neck, he's one heck of a catcher and an even better kid. He deserves everything that comes his way, and I've never seen a ball jump off anyone's bat like his. Best thing about Jacob is....he's only a junior!!!
