AggiesAreWe
I have been asked to start a thread to see if we can come up with some all decade teams. We will start with the 70's decade and conclude with this current decade 2000-2009 which just ended. Members nominate players from the local districts of all classifications. If a player played in 2 decades, then put them in the decade that they graduated in. We will try and keep it to 7 first teamer's and 7 second teamer's. No superlatives or Honorable Mentions. If the selection is too broad then we will do it by classification. Also the teams do not necessarily have to have a certain number of positions on the teams. You can put all guards or all front court players. Now let's put on those thinking caps and dig deep in those memory banks and let the debate begin!! AggiesAreWe
All 80's decade team: BJ Tyler, PA Lincoln Brian Sallier, PA Lincoln Darrell MacArthur, Silsbee Andre Boutte, Hebert : Earl Evans, PA Lincoln Horace McDaniel, Kountze Daimon Sweet, Central Boutte on the all decade team? He wasn't even the best player on his Hebert team. Donald Mickens would be on the all decade team before Boutte.
Guest DickVitale
OK, so it was a toss up between the two :....how about the other picks?
AggiesAreWe
OK, so it was a toss up between the two :....how about the other picks? They are good, I like them. But, this is just the beginning of the selections, they won't end with your picks.
Guest DickVitale
Yeah, but I have got to be in the 90-95 percentile range of accurate picks!! ;D
Bobcat1
I'm too young for this. I'll leave it up to you old guys. ;D

On the 80's list, shouldn't Anthony Allen(Lincoln) be included.

Guest aschrapps
On the 90's for Kountze: Ibe' McDaniel Josh Hancock 2000's for Kountze: Keithan Hancock Ashton Hall i agree they both could play but man if you had to pick one or the other to be on the team it would be hard...they both were so dominant and im still convinced hancock could shoot about 30 percent from 30 feet. Guest DickVitale
Earl Evans played in the 70's Thanks I fixed it...Confused him with Anthony Allen...Told AAW we were too young for a 70's list!!!
bacbone9
no Perry Hill on the 90s team
Guest spinks
Jason Throop (LCM/HJ) has to be considered for the 90's team but I agree with Dickie V's selections for the most part.
Icky3284
How about Artis Beatie (sp??) Woodville 90's, Kenyon Spears HJ, and T. Thomas EC And for you HJ guys, would you put Isabelle, Holmes, or both on the 90's team
Guest DickVitale
The answer to each of those questions? No, No, and I don't think so....
Icky3284
I really didn't know about Beatie, because I actually never watched him, just heard GREAT things about him, so I would probably defer to others on him, but Kenyon and previously mentioned Jason Throop would be hard to leave off for me personnally because both were beast. But Dicky in defense to your list, its hard for me to take off any of those guys you have up there because man most of them in the 90's were UNREAL. About T. Thomas, well.. we all know where I stand on him, and think he would be on most peoples list. But other than that, I have to say GOOD JOB!!
Guest DickVitale
Thats just it. The guys you mentioned were great players in their own right, but who do you take off to put them on?
Guest nostradamus
Jason Throop lead the ENTIRE state in scoring his senior year and is still one of the state's all time leading scorer's....and he did it at a 4A school..... he belongs on the list.... would probably be better off doing it by classification or big school/small school..... Guest DickVitale
At LCM? : : LCM..... :......Throop HAD to shoot 95% of the time and he DID! Real good player on a below average team...Should NOT be on the list.
Guest nostradamus
I'm confused.......are we doing all time teams or all time players? You don't lead the ENTIRE state in scoring REGARDLESS of classification just because you are the "only good player on the team".....that's bogus and you know it....kid could flat out score and gave Lincoln and the likes fits and made them change their defensive game plans solely for him. Guest nostradamus
I think you just made a bigger case for him......played on "average teams" where he HAD to shoot 95% of the time and all defenses had to do was shut him down to win........hmmmmm........and still lead the state in scoring.........sounds like a hell of a player to me. PoppaBearstarr
Not sure how you can leave Jamey Harrison off of the 90's list, He still holds alot of the state records for steals and assist, He is 2nd nationally to Jason Kidd. Oh yeah and he is from HJ.
