Guest DickVitale Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 I know of a couple of Cardinals that came from the California JUCO League that were pretty good additions: Damany Hendrix Nashid Beard I think there was another?? I don't doubt that they were decent players, but you won't get any guys even like Kenny Dawkins from California JUCOs unless they were PLANTED there by a big time D-I...
Guest DickVitale Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Like I said...Decent. What juco did he go to?
Guest coachacola Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 From the LU athletic website on Jay Brown: Played for Mike Miller at L.A. City College ... As a sophomore, averaged 17.4 ppg, 11.1 rpg and 2.4 apg ... Shot 54.4% from the field and blocked 35 shots ... Named first-team all-state and Co-MVP of the South Coast Conference. Kendrick Harris played in the same conference as Jay Brown. This year Harris was named the south division player of the year, averaging 21.8 points and 7.4 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Harris could be starting in back court with Miles next year. Looks like Harris might be a good rebounder like Miles.
Guest mffl Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Like I said...Decent. What juco did he go to? Brown was our 2nd best player this year. He was a defensive beast, and if only he would have adjusted to Division I game sooner out of JUCO, then I think he could of been a lot better.. and if he played the 4 instead of the 5.
