Of course you realize that STARTING at age 18 will put you at a great disadvantage, BUT it CAN be done. There are some places which offer basketball skills training, but it is designed for youth. The best way is to WATCH the college game on television, and play as often as possible....College basketball is the BEST training usually because of the game and halftime commentary. Pay close attention to whats going on versus what is said about it.  Also, nothing beats hands on training as well.  There are many many basketball videos and books that you could invest in for further training as well....Quick question, why are you JUST now wanting to learn the game at 18? No problem with that, just curious...Anyway, hoped that helped. ;)

Well I kind of know how you feel because I started at 18 also but it was easier for me because I was around the game for so long. You have to pay attention not to the big things but mostly the little things. Like Vitale said they have alot of books and videos that an help you out also

I'm confused... Was the question about learning about COACHING or BEING coached to learn the game in order to play?

In either case, sending them to HJ would work well.
