Best overall performance in 21-3a

Wondering if anyone keeps track of the sports accomplishments of each district member overall? If a school got 6 points for winning dist in a sport and got 5 for second in another sport and 4 for third in another sport, etc.etc. etc. and then a total is compiled for each district member, who would the overall winner be? Since this year is not completed, you might have to use last year or, if using this year, add an asterisk with the understanding there are still several "seasons" that are not yet done.

I will try and come up with a scoring system for us to track. Are we talking just boys sports or all sports?

Boys, Girls, or both. Doesn't matter to me. Just curious how it might look

These are the sports that I'll use:

Boys

Football

Basketball

Baseball

Track

Golf

Girls

Vollyball

Basketball

Softball

Track

Golf

We'll use this point system:

1st 10

2nd 8

3rd 6

4th 4

5th 2

6th 1

I'll do a boys and girls score and then a combined score.

Split the points. If there was a tie for 1st, like with Silsbee and HJ in basketball, then you combine 1st and 2nd place points and divide by 2.

Football and basketball for boys, volleyball and basketball for girls. Being that's the only two sports that I am using that has been completed.

The one that we keep up with you get additional points the further you advance in the playoffs.....teams should be rewarded for that.

I dont agree with that then the second place team gets more points than the two that won first.

If the first place team gets 10 and the second gets 8 and you have a tie then you have the 10 plus the 8 and divide by 2 giving each team 9 and the third place gets 6.
