adminbaberuth Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Nederland baseball makes all the right moves against Vidor By RYAN S. CLARK April, 4, 2009 Sometimes winning a close game comes down to making the right moves at the right times. In some cases, there just aren't any moves to make. Either way, Nederland baseball coach Cody Robbins made a few moves that worked out Friday as Nederland eked out a 4-3 victory over Vidor at Pirate Field in a District 20-4A game. The win gives Nederland a 5-1 district record, tying it with Port Neches-Groves for first place. As for Vidor, it falls to 3-3 and is in fourth place. Vidor led 2-0 heading into the fourth inning, but Vidor coach Kyle Green was forced to make a change after starting pitcher Trae Hester, a left-hander, was pulled because he had pain in his left shoulder. Green moved Hester to first base and Chad Sims to pitcher, and Nederland loaded the bases with two singles and a walk. Nederland cut the lead to 2-1 when Hester's sore shoulder prevented him from throwing a ball from first to home and Tyler Smith scored. read more > This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
Terrier Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I hope Hester isn't seriously injured. He looked like he was hurting against PNG a couple of games ago. I sure hope he wasn't trying to play through something that he should of rested and ended up with a major injury.
