What makes a good or bad official?

Well, I think you should see what happens, determine whether or not it violates the rules, and if so, then blow the whilste. Not just blow it just to blow!

my son graduated last year and played varsity for 2 years as a starter, one of the things that always got to him was the grabbing while cutting thru the paint ( hanging on so hard as to pull out the uniform) and hand checking, we were told that was going to be called?? didn't`t happen. Any response

hand checking isnt necessarily against the rules
