Bulldog92 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 He will be missed. As much as I've always hated Philadelphia's fan base (Eagles mostly), I can't imagine how they must feel right now. RIP, Harry...
Guest JoesBros Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I agree and totally forgot he was part of the Astros original broadcast team in the 60's. He one of the last original broadcasters left in the game as well. The only two of what I call originals left in the game that I can think of off the top of my head is Vin Scully and Milo.
adminbaberuth Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 harry kalas was a class act. i remember as a young kid in the mid 60's listening to the astros every night because my father always had the radio tune to them. dad never liked gene elston who did the first 3 innings, then loel passe sp 4th and 5th then harry would arrived for the 6th and 7th. i remember one game the stros went 24 innings, we were up a very long time and never missed a pitch. harry, rip.
Guest JoesBros Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 That is what so great about baseball it just has a certain something about it all the way from the way the game is played to the broadcasters.
