The Lamar State College-Port Arthur softball team will be home Sunday

at Martin Field for a 1 p.m. Region XIV doubleheader against Alvin

Community College.

The Seahawks were scheduled to play Saturday at Northeast Texas

Community College in Mt. Pleasant, but those games were rescheduled to

April 26 because of expected bad weather.

Lamar State is 7-31 overall and 5-17 in Region XIV action after

dropping both games of a Wednesday home conference doubleheader with

Galveston College.

Alvin (34-19, 15-11) currently is sixth in the 12-team conference as

the season winds down. The top six teams qualify for the post-season

tournament, which begins April 30 at Navarro College in Coriscana.

The Dolphins split their last three conference doubleheaders.

Alvin edged Lamar State, 6-4 and 4-3, in their first meeting of the

season March 18, with both games going into extra innings.
