Chazz Reinhold Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 im seriously not impressed by this guy anymore. the fight tonight against leites was a joke....i would have rather watched M.A.S.H. than that fight. PITIFUL. Maybe GSP will fight him soon....that might be an interesting fight.
Guest baseball25 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 He was attacking the whole time. It’s a frustrating fight for a striker when every time you go to hit a guy, he falls on his back..blame the lack of action on Leites’ unwillingness to engage even a little. Not every fight is going to be some spectacular finish..I mean silva needs a threat...Franklin and Henderson were threats...GSP, bisping are threats so hopefully we see GSP next..
mat Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I didn't see the fight but everything I've read said it was a big disapointment. Also time for Chuck to hang it up?
Guest baseball25 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 chuck is done.....it is dissapointing bec nobody will engage with him...awful fight
venom33 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I dont want to hear Silva is the best P4P fighter anymore.... Is he a bada$$,no doubt but to be considered the best P4P you have to be able to finish a fight ANYWHERE and he cant! Horrible PPV as usual but we as fans continue to dish out the money and as long as that happens the UFC wil continue to put on below average, TUF diluted PPV's.

Gabe Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Right now I would say GSP would beat Silva. GSP has the heart and determination. Silva looks bored and doesn't care anymore.
Guest baseball25 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Becasue he needs a challange and Silva hasn't had one since irvin....GSP is a great challange or move up to 205......just like Floyd Mayweather he was getting bored in the ring and thats why he retired but now there is pacman that he's thinking about or Marquez so he wants to fight again.....He's still the champ," White said of Silva. "There's still no way you can deny that this guy is the best fighter in the world. I can honestly say I didn't like his fight tonight. I was unhappy with it, whatever it is. But I'll tell you right now, he's the best. "(WAMMA heavyweight champion) Fedor (Emelianenko) is not the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. These guys continue to fight the best. Fedor's at a buffet somewhere in Russia. So until this guy decides to get in shape, take it serious and consistently fight the best in the world, for you guys to even think about calling him the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is insane."
silentassasin Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Yeah but what about the fact that this is his job and keeping the belt should be more than enough of a challenge for Silva. He is a bad man, no doubt, but maybe getting a little complacent? I think that right now he is the best in that division and could be in 205 if he stepped up. Maybe he should, because I feel if you are a true fighter it is not about the belt but about being the best. Maybe he is bored because in his mind he is the best in 186 and noone can beat him so he should move up. Go look for the challenge to motivate yourself!! Glad I cancelled my ppv party.
Guest baseball25 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 lol yeah you better be glad lol pretty boring.....yeah I think he's bored right now...and I mean fighters go through this but I gurantee Dana White and Silva the guy that picks the fights will make him fight a tough fighter next....

Guest baseball25 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Fedor has fought 6 times in 3 years thats it and he's beat up a bunch of old has beens that were in the UFC..Anderson has fought 10 times in 3 yrs and if you compare the competition to each others Anderson has faced the way tougher competition....Fedor fought Lindland when lindland is a 185 pound fighter and was so out of shape when they fought he was fat as hell becasue he's a middleweight..mark Coleman is flat out old...Anderson has beat franklin twice,Dan henderson, lutter is Ok, he moved up to 205 and pounded Irvin....I am not saying Fedor isn't the top 3 PFP guys. All I am saying to be the best you got to fight the best out there and thats what Silva has done the past 3 years......Fedor has fought UFC guys that aren't that good anymore they are overated.....Tim is awful, and Arvloski has no chin what so ever....Silva next fight will be against GSP are a 205 guy.....Fedor needs to fight more than once a year to be consider the best...
Guest baseball25 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Fedor Last month’s ranking: 1 (tie) Most recent result: def. Andrei Arlovski, R1 KO, Jan. 24 Analysis: Rumors of an Affliction card on July 11 surfaced in recent weeks. As did rumors that, surprise surprise, Josh Barnett wouldn’t fight Emelianenko on the card. Anything short of Barnett, or perhaps a rematch with Andrei Arlovski, would put Emelianenko back on “caliber of competition†notice. He was out of the PFP list for a long time becasue he didn't fight anyone and he's fought a couple times and he back up there with Silva at the 1 spot......I mean we see silva 4 times a year so I wanna see fedor that many time as well too if he is one of the PFP guys thats all im saying
venom33 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Again, besides Hendo who has Silva fought???? Dont use Franklin, hes been washed up for a while now. If youre the MMA fan you say you are then theres NO WAY you can honestly say Silva has had tougher opponents than Fedor. Silvas last 3 fights have been against guys who havent sniffed the top 10. Fedors last 3 were against 2 FORMER UFC champs who at the time of the fights were either ranked #2 in the world or ranked in the top 5 and Choi.
Gabe Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Fedor is a monster that is for sure but I somehow I agree he has not fought anyone worthy LATELY. His resume looks better from top to bottom but he barely fights and when he does it is not the top competition. The fight I have is that you say he has fought former UFC champs well the key word in that is former. They are former champs for a reason. Silva has not fought the toughest fighters here recently either but I go on looks and (besides these last two fights where he seems bored) Silva is overall more impressive.

You are correct when you say they are former champs for a reason, but they were champs nonetheless and still both ranked in the top 10!
venom33 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I really hope the next fight for Silva will be GSP or Wandy... He needs someone that will stand and bang with him.
mat Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Does anyone think GSP should be concidered for PFP best fighter? Just wondering
Gabe Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 He has to be considered a lot. He has fought maybe the toughest schedule as of late and has looked more than impressive and has gotten better and better.
Guest baseball25 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 heck yeah GSP should hes a stud.....Choi sucks bad lol he's 1-2 in mma fights how can you say that he's good......how in the heck can u say franklin is wash up he has 2 losses to Silva and one by henderson..he beat Hamill and Lutter by knockout before he fought Dan and also he beat okami 2 years ago silva is just that good....Silva has been fighting 3 to 4 times a year the last couples of yrs compared to once a yr for Fedor....silva has fought 3 times in 2008 and 3 times in 2007 and his on pace to fight 2 more times this year....Fedor is on pace to fight in 2010 lol.....I am not saying Fedor sucks but to be the BEST you got to FIGHT the best.........Franklin was the best then SILVA dominated him.....Nate Marqurdt was in the top 10 and silva dominated him..then he dominates henderson....so Nate is ranked 4th in the rankings, Dan was 6th in the rankings, Franklin was number 1 in the world at that time, and then he moves up to 205 and kills Irvin....FEDOR beat 2 former ufc champs that got cut from the UFC and a 7ft guy that has fought 3 mma fights in his career that is great competition right there lol.... Heres a little info for ya though-- both Fedor and Silva started their careers in 2000, Fedor 29-1-1 and Silva 24-4. Ive told you this in many, many prior posts... broaden your horizon and realize there are better fighters in the world besides what the TUF diluted UFC has to offer. The MMA world DOES NOT begin and end with Dana White and the UFC. I think your problem with Fedor is you dont have a clue who the guys are hes fought nor do you have a clue who Silvas fought before the UFC. I guess you know them by name alone. For you to compare anybody with the exception of Hendo to anyone Fedor has fought is insane! You throw out rankings but you fail to mention Arlovski was #2 in the world and Timmy was in the top ten and both got DESTROYED. For you to say Silva fights top guys but Fedor doesnt shows your total ignorance...
