sticky Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Barbers Hill Barbers Hill improved to 2-0 in their first season of team tennis with a 16-3 win over Liberty. The Eagle boys were the strength of the match, sweeping doubles and singles. Kyle Heard, the No. 1 singles player, defeated Matt Herndon 6-2, 6-3 and No. 2 Josh Maddox beat Lamar Bean 7-6, 5-7, 7-6. Tyler Richter also won a split set match over Marcus Davis 6-2, 1-6, 6-0. Landry Rice, Zeke Hernandez and Joseph Lovinggood all won in two sets. Kristin Chaumont encountered little difficulty in her No. 1 singles match taking a 6-2, 6-1 decision. Brittany Tobin rolled over Madison Moody 6-0, 6-0 and China Godfrey won her match 6-1, 6-3. Courtney Thomsen also claimed a win in singles for Barbers Hill. In boys doubles action Heard and Maddox won 6-3, 6-2 and Richter and Hernandez won 6-0, 5-7, 6-2. Lonider and Lovinggood won their match 6-1, 6-3. Chaumont and Tobin won their match in girls doubles by a convincing 6-0, 6-0 score. Simpson and Hall also won their match at No. 2 girls doubles 6-2, 6-0. McKnight and Tice completed the win with a 6-1, 6-0 win in mixed doubles.

sticky Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 Tuesday, September 19 BH Defeats New Caney 18-1 in Team Tennis Barbers Hill moved to 3-0 in the District 21-4A team tennis race with a convincing 18-1 win over New Caney. Currently Barbers Hill and Galena Park are the only unbeaten teams. The Eagles will face off with Galena Park on Oct. 16. Next on the schedule Barbers Hill will travel to Smiley on Sept. 25 to continue district play.
sticky Posted September 27, 2006 Author Report Posted September 27, 2006 Tuesday, September 26 Team Tennis Shuts Out Smiley Barbers Hill Team Tennis is now in the drivers seat of District 21-4A Team Tennis. The Eagles defeated Smiley 19-0. Crosby Cougars helped the Eagles cause with a 12-7 win over the previously unbeaten Galena Park Yellow Jackets. Barbers Hill is now 4-0 in District play and the only remaining unbeaten team. The Eagles have a Bye Oct. 2 and will finish district play with CE King on Oct. 9 and Galena Park Oct. 16. current district standings: 1. Barbers Hill 4-0 t2. Crosby 3-1 t2. New Caney 2-1 t2.
