I am sure it will be someone that the AD can push around!!!!!  I hear the HC has no say in just about anything at LSCPA!!!!!!!!  Hopefully the ship will change it's course!!!!

Wrong coach, Bobby...There was no campus security there when I left!! THAT IS A LIE!! After he tendered his resignation, Coach Cole was given ONE HOUR TO LEAVE CAMPUS by that piece of **** AD there and THAT IS A FACT!! He did NOTHING to deserve that kind of treatment... I WAS NOT ESCORTED ANYWHERE BY ANYONE!!! Thats SLANDER and I will SEE to you correcting that statement IMMEDIATELY!  That is WRONG on so many levels and you know it...FURTHERMORE, MY decision to leave was WEEKS before Jerre's (I turned in my resignation on April 2 to be effective May 31) and it had EVERYTHING TO DO with wanting to be a head coach again, as well as MONEY and you KNOW it, Mr. Summers!! I had NO PROBLEM with being there, I just got a MUCH BETTER OPPORTUNITY for me and I took it!! My Problem with YOUR AD is that the way he did JERRE COLE AND ME in the process....He was scared of Jerre's shadow all year long because Jerre let him know early that he would not be harrassed by him, then all of a sudden, he has ONE HOUR TO BE OFF CAMPUS. THEN that day he said that I could go ahead and take my vacation days, because he was mad at Jerre for leaving, and thought I might POSSIBLY influence recruits negatively. Which was the DUMBEST thing he could do. YOU know that I was willing to help the kids and the program to transition until my departure. Fortunate for me, I am paid through May and was able to move my start date up in Houston to May 1...Thank God for people who use common sense in Houston...The POS AD (Bill Worsham) thought he could hurt me because Jerre and I took new jobs, 10 times better than the one we had..What would YOU have done if you were us? I certainly hope that common sense would lead you to take the jobs as we did.  FURTHERMORE the only "recruit" that is possibly staying that signed is Nick Walters. Of the others......Lets just say they are in GOOD HANDS away from there. I can guarantee you that NO ONE WILL RETURN THERE NEXT SEASON...ALL have asked for our help and I have helped them ALL get placed that called me. ITS DONE...What your dumb *** AD does not know is that he can only hold them for ONE CALENDAR year from their original signing date....THEY dont NEED his "release" after that....Good luck next season.....WOW

Taking the high road is what I can do, but you don't realize how it appeared to readers when you say that Jerre and I were "escorted out of the Parker Center"? That did not happen, and I don't recall being "tailed" either....I am ALWAYS going to defend me, so if thats the low road to you, then it is what it is.  Coaches that DON'T know what is going on there will probably apply for that job. Yes, but once the new guy gets there, works with Bill Worsham, sees how dumb the guy is, realizes that he was lied to (as Jerre did) about EVERYTHING, realize that there is NO SCHOLARSHIP money, No dorms OR a place for out of town guys to live (yes thats gone too. Bill did not work that deal out at LU, I DID. THEY HATE BILL WORSHAM AT LU. He was run off from there), No meal plan, AND they have to compete in a conference that has ALL of these things plus more scholarship monies??.....I GUARANTEE HE will look for greener pastures and be pissed off as well. LSCPA NEEDS to be a club team or go back to division III, UNLESS a new Athletic Director is hired and the school decides to fully invest in athletics...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, and the new coach will find that out soon enough. If you knew what I know, would YOU send ANY kid to Lamar State to play basketball? Never.

I commend you for trying to uphold the integrity of the school in your position at LSCPA, and you have done a fantastic job of promoting the program, especially when we were there...But you know, like I know....Its going NOWHERE as long as Bill Worsham is in place...He raises ZERO dollars for athletics, and has ZERO knowledge of athletics...What does he do there? Harrass coaches...Tell kids they cannot DUNK in the gym...Fuss about burned out lights in the Parker Center...He is a joke and you and I both know it..You don't have to say it, but I will.....I will take the high road, but I will not lie....

Well, after reading these responses, it is very clear that there are obvious problems in PA. Dicky, I do not know how good a job this private gig is that you have just landed, but I would think it's a much better sitiuation than what you just left. It seems that you would have been better off taking an assistant job at HJ or Silsbee than being at that place in PA. ;D

I'm confused!! If's there is no scholarship money,no dorms and no meal money how could it be called recruiting ??? What are these kids signing to play.Heck they could pay their own way to a D-3 and play and get the same perks(none).

Let me clarify my statement about "No scholarships"...LSC-PA offers $24,000 dollars a YEAR in scholarship money for men's basketball..This equates to around THREE scholarships per year when you break that down.  THREE. Essentially thats NO SCHOLARSHIPS.. They might as well be D-III, which does not provide scholarships, as opposed to being given the bare minimum. When Jerre interviewed BILL WORSHAM LIED to him and said that although this lowly amount was allotted, he would be allowed to fund raise the rest to field a team...HOWEVER when we attempted to do that, Somehow, The annual LSCPA Gala always took precedent and we were not allowed to go after certain businesses for donations, because they already commit to the annual gala, as if men's basketball is not a part of the school. Worsham is so dumb, he did not want ADVERTISING BANNERS placed in the Parker Center for fear that it would "deface" the building...SO DUMB...So how else were we going to raise money?

Second, I did ALL of the legwork in securing a place to live AND securing BEDS for the players that we brought in from out of town....WORSHAM LIED again saying that HE would do these things and provide each player with a bed and dressers for the apartments..Never happened...I GOT THE BEDS....ME....This is the job and responsibility of the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, but he has NO IDEA HOW to do these things that I did this year...Remember that nice new lighted scorers table we got this year?...YES...MY WORK TOO...You don't think BILL WORSHAM did that, do you?

Third, if you THINK for one second that the BEST local players will even LOOK at LSCPA now, you are HIGHLY mistaken my friend...And furthermore if you have to depend on second, third and FOURTH tier players from Bridge City, PNG, Nederland, and such, in Region XIV, they will get EMBARRASSED EVERY NIGHT....Even in the pre season....The talent in the area IS NOT THAT DEEP...The 5 best players in the area would not even CONSIDER LSCPA even if they are non qualifiers and HAVE to go to JUCO...Why would they? Lee has FULL RIDES, meal plans, and housing (no dorms, but they have a better apt. setup for players)...Angelina has it ALL...PLUS a nice facility...Thats just two....ALL of the schools in the conference have a better set up...WHY GO TO LAMAR STATE? Jerre and I made do, and could have gotten things going if THE SCHOOL WOULD INVEST IN ATHLETICS....Why do you think that SOFTBALL had more available scholarship money than BASKETBALL at LAMAR STATE? I KNOW the underlined REAL reason (look at the team pictures and draw your own conclusion, and it has NOTHING to do with Title 9), but the bottom line is THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! They should get Worsham out of there and go back to D-III THIS YEAR.

Worsham was an ousted Lamar University kinesiology professor, that had ties to the LSCPA president and was handed the AD position...They can't STAND him at LU...EVERYONE there called him a total loser!! Has no business in the position AND he is a bad person on top of all of that. Real waste of space!

I certainly don't agree with most of the things DickieV says, but do I share his opinion about the AD at LSCPA.  How he got that position, I'll never know.  I do know that they could do a lot better though.  He is definitely not a people person, nor a sports person. 

However, insinuating that the softball program at LSCPA gets more money because they are white is a completely racist comment.  And that is what you were insinuating DickieV.  Your standard MO of making every situation a black/white issue is tiring and pathetic.
