Jasper is usually ahead by a nose in that two horse race.  High school sports programs have years where they are a little down.  It is Jasper's turn right now.  Their staff is a very capable one, which is obvious by the State Championship sign in left field.  Does your school have a sign like that on their baseball field?  They will be back.  Just a matter of time.

Jasper is not a bad team. They will get third behind two other great programs that they barely lost to in district. You make it sound like Jasper isn't even on the same level as Carthage or Hudson. Here are their scores with the 2 teams this season

good program, good coaches, good kids that love the game, some tough injuries this year,

& they are still fighting

by the way, Jasper beat those two teams every time they met this year, check your facts

& with some of the hard injuries they have had this year, i'm suprised you would talk about a team overcoming those things...they are good kids who have fought hard, find someone else to talk about

blueyousuck - that's a great post, sorry to see your the same smart-mouthed, bitter individual that you were in high school.  You want to poor mouth a great program with a bunch of kids who have battled through injury and youth

and gotten better as the year has progressed.  You take care of your business and let the dawgs take care of theirs.  Done come around here meely mouthing us and act like your  one of us because you're far from it.  17-6 / in the playoffs for the 16th straight year / we could care less what you think.  when the time comes don't jump on our bandwagon.  by the way , your username is as stupid as you are.

This year is no different, playoff bound with a great young team and one of the most repected coaches in the area.

When you consider that Jasper graduated all its starting pitchers, and consider all the injuries to key players, and consider that the district includes two of the best teams in Texas supposedly, I think Jasper has done pretty well. 

It remains to be seen of course if they will advance very far in the playoffs, but they almost certainly have laid the foundation for even better years in the near future.

Well....I guess ill answer the question of the topic....."Can Jasper live up to the past?" the answer is no....talent wise. But determination and hard play, yes. Great coaching staff and good kids to go along with it is a good pair. Jasper will be fine.

How did the Parker kid do this season?  ??? Kid was a beast as a soph last year just glad 21-3A didn't have to face him. Best of luck to Jasper in the playoffs. Wouldn't mind seeing them face Hamshire down the road.

Probably not as well as last year....but still very well. He is such a solid catcher, and one of the most dependable players on this team. I dont think he's hit as many bombs this year though.
