I have to agree with UNLV. Looks like sports at UNO are on the way to being dropped.

The really sad part is that if they drop athletics, enrollment tends to drop. In turn less students means an eventual uptick in tuition prices. While they might save the $96/semester now, future students will likely end up picking up the tab at a higher rate. Might as well call it New Orleans Community College now.

I think Monroe is next. How can a public school half LU size in a tiny market 24 miles from La tech manage FBS and 15 sports.

Knucklehead TexasTerror is saying on katfans that SELA and Nicholls st is cutting a few sports.

They can't cut too many sports if they want to stay D1.

I counted Nicholls st with 14 sports. SELA also with 14.

Nicholls has 15 and SLU has 16 presently. Would be nice if some of you guys learned how to count and understood the intricacies of track and field.  ::) They have nothing to worry about with numbers, because with the SLC adding sand volleyball, that'll keep'em in check.

How about slc add arena football, half court basketball, ping-pong, and putt-putt.

Ping pong, also referred to as table tennis may be some years off. After all, it is an Olympic sport - which is the case for sand volleyball, which is very, very popular.
