I agree, this forum is dead without these guys.  At times, I also disagreed with them, but I know they did with me also.

I ask that they come back also--but this may be a moderator issue and the Mods need to get together and make a group assessment.

I think this would be a good approach to solving the probelm.  So --are the mods (with whom I do respect) up to it.

Mods did not have anything to do with them deleting thier accounts.  I was told that one certain Moderator is a big cause of the big problem on the board.  This Mod had been quiet for some time and then comes in and throws his power around as a Moderator and stirs more crap than BAG.  IMO he did stir crap before he was a Mod and the even more after he was a MOD.  Hence the term Mafia Moderator!  As for as them coming back.......may not happen for a while if at all.  This will make some people extremely happy.  Am I right T-12?

How long before my post is deleted?  8:14pm

RAGS.....GET THOSE GUYS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just passing on the information I got a little while ago.

Word is they will not be back until a certain Moderator is no longer a Moderator.  I also know of others that deleted thier accounts today.  They feel they would be on even "Playing Fields" if he was just a posters.

Just the messenger................ ::)

I don't think because they're gone it's "dead" what could you talk about?  There is nothing going on right now thanks to UIL.

I have a feeling they are watching...they just aren't posting...

They'll be back when Nederland goes to state!!  ;)

Or it could be that there is nothing going on until May 11th.  ::)

Bobcat your #2 on their list of Mods they want out.  Be careful how and what you post!  Many of the posters are deleting accounts.  Just heard of another from Barber Hill area that is cutting loose his account.

Reason:  Feel Mods(not all) can do and say what they want and have no consciences.

BH posters cancelling...I think not.  We have our own clique.

Our softball forum has been a place for discussion, to gain knowledge, and have agreements and disagreements on our sport. We laugh with some and laugh at others. The restrictions lately to almost all user interactions, has stifled some of the most interesting debates on our sport.

The Moderators are not the police, and should never repress the community interaction. Most on this softball forum have been through the wars of this softball world for ten years or more. Traveled all over this country following our darling daughters from field to field and most truly love this sport and what it has done for our children.

The moderators have crack down so hard lately on members the second they have stepped out of line, that you have sent a negative message to our community that free speech is not tolerated on this site. You have made members so mad that they have deleted their accounts and seem to discouraged other members from getting involved. This is hardly the ingredients for a successful forum.

Lately, many post have been locked and deleted because the moderators don't like the topic. I am not saying that forum moderators shouldn't be allowed to delete or lock threads that are inappropriate. But they should not be deleted because they don't like the subject matter. I for one miss our old softball forum.

Respectfully,

Johnny Zink (RangerDad)

This is the last post I will post about talking about the 'crack' down. You only know what your 'clique' says, yet you have not been messaged from other members who don't post on here because they don't want there team/daughter/sister/cousin/etc to be talked about by the 'clique'.

Should they come back, yes, will this board go on if they don't, yes it will. Have some things happend that shouldn't I'm sure it has, is it so serious that some had to delete their account, I don't think so, but I guess I could never delete my account because I'm addicted.

We all have different personalities, some people may know who my family is, but trust me I am nothing like my brother or sister (who a lot of you know), they're quiet and humble. I am neither; I'm sarcastic, argumentative, and hilarious. 8)

The thing that annoys me the most (and a lot of other people who read on here) is when trying to find out things about the games and what happend, who scored, who made the errors, it always turns into juiceboxes and what happend in select ball that summer. Just try to stay on topic at least the first day so we can read about what really happend, then juicebox it up!! ;D

No hurt feelings, I don't care that I'm 2nd on the hit list to get to boot from being a MOD. At least I'm not number one :D

Ranger here comes my argumentative side...

You have made members so mad that they have deleted their accounts and seem to discouraged other members from getting involved. This is hardly the ingredients for a successful forum.

This goes both ways then, there are people who are labled 'newbies' and have no 'credit' so there opinion does not matter, also people who REFUSE to post because of the reasons I already stated.

Ok, the end. Everyone relax, have a 'juicebox', and when you're ready to come back you will.

I know that's right.  Glad to see someone from BH actually admit that.

I didn't necessarily mean it in good way, tnt

;)

My last thought on this before I leave it alone, promise.  I agree with RangerDad AND Bobcat here, but there was regular breaking of the forum rules AND some overeation by Mod's.  Its important to remember that free speech is NOT guaranteed on this board, nor is it a democracy.  Its a good board and I hope it continues.  Hijacking threads with obscure "inside' references is annoying but not that hard to skim on past.  Speaking negatively of any player should be a one warning and then your out, period.

I think taking your marbles and going home cause you don't like the rules is fine, but remember that this is the only marble game in town.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
