I met Mike 20 yrs ago at Lamar.  He is as intense and passionate about success now as he was back then.  Orangefield will miss him.  Kountze will love him.  Good luck, Mike!

I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL OF THE KIDS FROM KOUNTZE YESTERDAY AND ALL ARE VERY EXCITED TO COACH STEWART IS COMING. THEY ACTED AS IF THEY WANTED TO PLAY NOW. I HOPE THE ATTITUDE STAYS THE SAME. WHO KNOWS CHANGE THE KIDS ATTITUDE ABOUT PLAYING AND THEY COULD BE A TEAM TO WATCH NEXT YEAR.

He made an apperance at the school yesterday and introduced himself to the kids and there is now a buzz around campus and the kids who didn't play last year are wanting to come out and play now. This is good for Kountze. I just hope he likes to kick field goals. I spent many years working with his father in law and he is a great fit for the Lions.

Congrats, Stew.  This man was responsible for ending my baseball career.  In Pony-Colt, he threw three ptiches.....I didn't see any one of them...I knew it was time to hang it up!
