This is the week that:

1.  The bonds finally get issued for the renovations of the stadium, the new athletic complex, and the softball/soccer complex.

2.  Spring signing period of basketball period ends on Wednesday (I think) so Roc should announce his signing class this week.

The Board of Regents are suppose to have a special meeting this week so they can get bonds issued.  I just wish the would update their website quicker.  The minutes from the February meeting still haven't been posted.  There's always a 2 to 3 month delay between the time the meetings take place and when they actually post the minutes online.

I'm a little disappointed that nothing has been announced yet, but looking at the Texas Bond Review Board website, here's what planned for LU's athletic facilities:

For FY 2009:

New Soccer Field: $1 million

Renovate stadium and replace field house: $5 million

Soccer and Softball field house: $500,000

For FY 2010:

Renovate stadium and replace field house: $17.5 million

Soccer and Softball field house: $3 million

New softball field: $1.2 million

For FY 2011:

Vincent-Beck stadium renovations: $5 million

There's also some new buildings coming soon to Lamar:

Cardinal Village V in 2010: $19 million

Science Building in 2012: $25 million

Facilities Management Complex in 2011: $15 million

Security and Computer Center in 2011: $5 million

Administrative Service Building in 2012: $12 million

Plus lots of renovations to existing buildings.

Also add Stanford Brown and Joshua Wesley to the list. Doesn't appear that all these guys are going to be coming.. wonder which ones are the odd men out? I hope we have Harris, Muandumba, Ebomwonyi, Brown, and Wesley. We need some depth at the SF position too.

Only real solid contributors coming back are Miles, Custer, Nwevo, Nabors, and Hall. Am I forgetting someone?

If nobody leaves the team then there's 8 returnees from last year:

3 seniors: Nwevo, Nabors, Hall

3 juniors: Custer, Williams, Mahoney

2 sophs: Miles, Harper

Not sure if all these guys are on a athletic scholarship.

5 high schools players that have given a verbal to Lamar:

5-11 Garza, 6-8 Ebomwonyi, 6-8 Wesley, 5-11 Muandumba, 6-8 Brown

That's 13 scholarships right there, which is the limit.  But supposedly a few guys are on academic scholarships.

Finally, there's the JUCO players:

Brandon Moton (who sat out last year)

EB Davis and Harris from LA SW CC.

If nothing else, there's going to be a good balance of freshmen, sophs, juniors and seniors.
