Guest Kelly Football Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Compared to other parts of the State? Opinions Please.
Bear70 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 no, i think its good, but the best, clearly no
WOS95 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 no' date=' i think its good, but the best, clearly no[/quote'] i agree
Champion Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Not the best but we do take alot of pride in being good!
KFDM COOP Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I can remember when we used to be.
bronco1 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 No, but it beats the heck out of soccer anywhere.
vp93 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I too think it is good and getting better. I think that eventually it will be the best again.
WOS95 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 No' date=' but it beats the heck out of soccer anywhere. [/quote'] uh oh, don't get the soccer players started
adminbaberuth Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Unless you get some growth in this area, I don't see it happening. Those 300 India workers that Orange is bringing in, just might not fit Coach Hooks ideal new recruit.
WOS95 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Those 300 India workers that Orange is bringing in' date=' just might not fit Coach Hooks ideal new recruit.[/quote'] what's that supposed to mean?
adminbaberuth Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 The topic was the strength of local football. "Will it be stronger in the future?" I replied that unless we grow we might not see this happening. Since, in the news it's been a hot topic about a company in Orange expanding but no local workers and the company had asked Orange if they could build modular homes for 300 workers from India to man the job it was in reference to job growth and possible more football players. I guess I could have used Coach Moody at LCM but Coach Hooks is Orange and I used him. Did I mess up?
V.P.Grad03 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 It may not be the best in the state, but we love it anyway!...
NeverSayDie Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 At the 3 and 4 a levels its hard to beat. 5a really only one team (West Brook). 1 and 2 A, with the exception of Newton is not great. Some good football teams, but not a lot of success in the playoffs.
ozens fastest@1906 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 in the eyes of everyone in our area its the best, but what it all comes down to it, it's simple. we have th athletes to compete, but most of the coaches around here arent use to change and with out change we'll see the same kind of football that keeps us in the 2nd and 3rd round and out of the finals.. thats excluding the great coaching we have at WOS....
adminbaberuth Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 but most of the coaches around here arent use to change and with out change we'll see the same kind of football that keeps us in the 2nd and 3rd round and out of the finals What changes would get this area over the top?
MHS32 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I agree with NeverSayDie. At the 3 and 4a level in SE Texas the guys bring it every Friday. About the only other area I've seen that strong at that level were you could catch a good game every week would be the Texas Hill country. Got some really good ones up there and some good rivalries.
JMay Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 "Texas Football" is the best hands down. SE Texas Football has seen its better days, but you still can't top a Friday night at any stadium in this area.
