lovethegame19 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Is that the Jim Philips that was the HC at Waller a few years ago ?????? If so, that would be a good one....
Guest Lions Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Mike Long is a surprise applying, he would be a good choice!

Let’sGetAlong Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 So who is the best candidate? I do not know a lot of the people on the list, but it seems to me Mike Long is a great candidate. He has comletely turned Kelly around. They used to be a dormat. And does Dustin come with him? I believe Orangefield needs to get someone with AD experience considering the timing and the fact that there seem to be a lot of pretty good applicants with AD experience.
Let’sGetAlong Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Well they went from terrible...to pretty good.
hookem14 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Long's only success as a coach came when he had the best quarterback in the state running his offence, (his son) and has done NOTHING since.
Guest baseball25 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 so why listen to a guy that doesn't know how to spell offense..
insidetrap Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Someone coached the best QB in the state, I am pretty sure that it was him!
hitman009 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Wayne McKeller is good. won state in Alabama, was AD at Warren for a while, they always had good OL. Has coached at HJ, Silsbee i think, Vidor, Kirbyville, PA. He is a good canadate. I believe he lives in the area which is a plus.
hjhawks Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Long would be a GREAT hire for OF.....not only as a football coach, but as an AD....
BearBryant Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 What do you mean turned Kelly around ???? Thats what I was thinking. Stump had Kelly rolling fine.
BigNutBuck Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 My choice would be Long, Huckaby, or Phillips. All 3 have head coaching/AD experience and all 3 have been successsful. For those knocking Long as a head coach are fools. PNG has been down offensively since he left and Kelly has beaten schools they have lost to in the past. They beat Sulpher, LA. a few years back when they were ranked in the top 10 in the whole state of LA. There are some other good coaches on the list with coordinator experience that would be good choices also. I just hope they are willing to pay for a top notch coach, and don't lose someone because they are too tight with the money.
Guest nostradamus Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Why do they list Huckabay as the AD at Paul Pewitt?? He is a principal in Hull Daisetta right now.
