knightrider
How will district 19-4A Football finish in 2009 until proven otherwise, i have to go with dayton. too much talent there. ;D ;D ;D :
dayton
The Dayton vs. Crosby game will decide the district champ IMO. I wish this game was played later in the season rather than midway through district. Either way, it'll be a hard fought game. It's in Crosby this year. Crosby has some good players, should be fun. FOOTBALLFEVER99
I'll go with Crosby to finish on top here, then Dayton, and BH in the top (3). With the loss of Cody Green, AJ Dugat, and Cameron LaCour, there are too many big shoes for Dayton to fill for them to even be close to the same caliber of team. Crosby has a proven QB and solid defense. CE King will get the last playoff spot....(4 teams in the playoffs, man I still can't agree with that)..... Dayton, IMO will be better on defense than last year. This will be the difference to me. The fact that there aren't big names on the offense (yet) will be to the broncos benefit.... we'll reload on position players just fine. I think it comes down to who stops who more. I think that is Dayton.
pngfan1
I have to agree with knightrider it belongs to Dayton until someone can prove otherwise. They won't have any problems reloading the skill positions.

Crosby seems to be the front runner with Dayton second and then BH. Now it always seems that Crosby chokes when playing Dayton, so they will have to mentally be prepared for the Broncos to take district. Dayton does lose a lot of talent and will reload, however I think that this is not the district that the Broncos once ran wild in and will be challenged much more than in the past. BH is a big unkown for me and I am hoping they get the 3rd or 4th spot as they have sat home for two years in a row during the playoffs. I know BH has a huge amount of talent coming up and we will start to see the effects of this tallent this season. Will it be enough of an effect to make the playoffs has yet to be seen, but I have faith ;D
dayton
I like that Crosby is the front runner. It makes the anticipation of the season really exciting. I agree with you BHfan... this district is much better than a few years ago and will be much more challenging week in and week out for everyone. BHFAN
I wonder how North Forest is going to be losing their Coach and our two new teams GCM and KP now have Seniors with a supporting class. I hope for a good year and can't wait for the season to begin
FOOTBALLFEVER99
North forest having a new coach won't help them, takes time to make the transition. Kingwood Park and Goose Creek should be better, but BH should beat both of those schools. BH has few kids coming up from JV team that should help them, particularly on defense. Also their freshman team from last year was solid, so a couple of those kids should be playing varsity. Should be a very competitive district. As far as tradition Barbers Hill is (2nd), 509 wins thru the 2006 season ( including a couple of State Championships in the 70's, only behind Jasper in the number of all time wins in the SETX area. Wouldn't hurt to post this on the bulletin boards and remind the kids there's is alot of tradition on "the Hill". They should be playing wih alot of pride. bigdaddyblue
Dayton...I believe they were in State final last year...Dayton's defense will be better this year since they get the big middle LB back on team this year...Crosby has the chance to be the spoiler with the offensive threats coming back but have to replace the entire OL and there defense is very weak, will have to outscore opps..GCM will be the big surprise...BH just doesn't have the skilled athletes to compete with Dayton & Crosby..NF you just never know with them, they are always very scary... FOOTBALLFEVER99
The pollsters have spoken. Looks like Dayton is the odds on favorite, Crosby 2nd, then North Forest in 3rd, with BH, GCM, and Galena Park battling for the fourth playoff spot. CE King just got no respect....... Hmm, we'll see what happens in 2009....I still think Dayton has too much talent to replace to repeat this year, but they'll obviously be a solid ball club..Good luck to all the kids! Who's returning that was a major role player this past year? I'd also like to note why King got no respect.... 1) they don't have any posters on this site 2) they don't play anyone in the beaumont area during the regular season, so when all the fans on this site have to go by is a loss in rd. 1 of the playoffs to Ned. .... they aren't gonna give you too much love. FOOTBALLFEVER99
Very good point, tha makes perfect sense.....Actually a BH fan, and Dayton should be the odds on favorite. Their well coached have very good athletes, only thing, they were such an offensive machine last year with Cody Green and Dugat. They will have to depend on a "less potent" offense this year and hope the defense can rise up....Crosby, I don't think can challenge them just yet, and BH still a little young and unknown..but they will always be diciplined and ready to play.
