HoopInsider_Cooper Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Houston will provide live coverage of the UIL Class 5A baseball state championship presented by State Farm from Dell Diamond in Round Rock on Saturday, June 13 at noon CT. A condensed one-hour tape-delayed broadcast of the Class 4A title game also will be shown on Sunday, June 14 at 7:00 PM CT and Tuesday, June 16 at 5:00 PM CT. Joe Taylor (play-by-play) and Perry Watson (analyst) call the 5A game, while Gerald Sanchez (play-by-play) and Lonnie King (analyst) work the 4A telecast. The two announcing teams have called high school sports events in Texas for a number of years on local radio stations and on the internet. The 5A game will feature the winners of Friday’s semifinals. Pearland (30-7-1) meets Lufkin (29-9) in the first semi, while El Paso Socorro (33-4) takes on Austin Westlake (26-12) in the other state semifinal. The 4A game played today matches nationally top-ranked Corpus Christi Moody (36-3) against Texarkana Texas (28-7). In addition to the two game telecasts, FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Houston also will televise a one-hour UIL CHAMPIONSHIP SPOTLIGHT special with highlights of each classification’s state championship.
