Gram56 Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Beaumont track club has rounded up an all star team of young men from the golden triangle. They are competing this weekend to qualify to regionals in the in the 4x100. They have a strong team with 1st leg Kyler Keith(Lumberton), 2nd Trey Franks(WOS), 3rd Anthony Lee(Ozen), and 4th James Haynes(WOS). This team has been practicing only for two weeks and is looking to run one of the best times in the state this weekend at a USA track meet. Most of the runners are running in other events like the 100, 200 , and long jump. But their main goal is to go to the junior Olympics later in the summer. Just to let the Golden Triangle know what athletes are up to!!!!

The team qualified to compete at the USA Regional Junior Olympic Championships by finishing 2nd place to top ranked "Track Houston Track Club", in the 4x100 meter relay. Track Houston Edged out BMT Track Club at the finish line with a 1st place time of 41.20, BMT Track finished 2nd with a time of 41.40. Trey Franks also captured USA GULF ASSOCIATION Championships in both the 100 & 200 meter dashes. The top 3 finishers from the regional championships will move on to compete in the USA Junior Olympic National Championships... Good Luck SETX!!!!!!
