I found a post on another forum (non SETX) that I just had to share, don't understand it, but I'll share it with you anyways:

When I was growing up as a kid I can remember feeding peanut butter to my dogs' date=' man I used to laugh and laugh sooo hard. It was only a few months ago that I realized how cruel this actually was. You see, I never gave them milk to wash it down. Although this may brings some laughs to folks, my point here is that if we are truely in the game of fastpitch softball for our kids then lets not cried over spilt milk. Eat a peanut butter sandwhich and drink milk afterwards, then the butter does'nt stick to your mouth. We are all obligated to give our rare athletes the best possible chance to succeed. If we do not drink milk after the peanut butter, we are sure to have the bad case of dry mouth and lock jaw. Incorporate a foundation that is built with the 4C's -Courage, Character, Chemistry and continuity and lets feed our rare athletes Peanut butter and whatch them grow. This foundation can never be broken by anyone or anything. It's proven and it works but only if you truly dedicate to it. I once was a rare athlete that never had the guidance that so many great people have to offer in this great game and I understand all too well what it really takes to succeed at any sport. Don't be caught looking back wishing you could have or should have. [/quote']

Any philosophical insight to the deep meaning behind this thread would be deeply appreciated. BTW, PP is getting hammered on this one!

Best reply so far was:

Alot of great coaching staffs focus on the 34C's.  Geez, did I say that out loud?

So if I understand this correctly, if you give a dog peanut butter with milk then the dog will grow up to be a good softball player....

So when did you start surfing the State Mental Hospital's website?

Just an attempt to put things into perspective.

I will add this to it . All the tools ,all the coaching and all the steering in the right direction are for not(Peanut butter and milk or not ), if the inspiring young athlete does not have the drive, the heart, and the will to succeed no matter the obstacles   8) Heart is something your born with not learned  :o Give them all the tools to succeed and watch your athlete grow into something she wants to be not necessarily what you want her to be  ;)

Ok, first of all let me confirm Bags profound statement ---Heart is something your born with not learned.  Thats deep, but you can have a "learning transplant with a good coach."

So, if you give a dog peanut butter --it  needs milk.  Milk comes from cow utters and if the dog is not careful trying to get it himself, he might get kicked.  So we--the grown ups should provide the milk.  Now that this makes sense, I will add bottles of milk to my softball ice chest and take them to tournaments and give to the girls who are walking around with there tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.  Better yet i'll bring a cow.

Speaking of cows, i think there is some Bull-Stuff being spread about the primadonn's.  But its a free country and we can enjoy freedom of speech.  That is one of our rights.  Speaking of rights, there is right and wrong ways to hit the ball.

So, therefore i say to all of you......linear or rotational.

Have a great independance week-end.

Respectfully ---

and in honor to CC for calling me into this thread
