What artificial bait will red fish bite when they are feeding?

Almost anything.  I like soft baits(cocahoe minnows, shrimp tails, etc) that have some white on them.  They hit spoons well also.

... or a lot of top waters. They will explode on top water lures.

They LOVE gold spoons.  But like posted earlier, when they're schooling...ANYTHING will do.

Have had the best luck with dark (rootbeer) with chart tail in something 'tasty' like 'DOA' or Gulp although the Gulp dont come in Rb n chart. Like other posters have said when your 'n m' they will hit a shinny hook....
