LB hopes Canes come calling with offer

Lumberton (TX) High School LB Anthony Beard lists six scholarship offers: Southern Methodist, Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, Missouri and Arizona.

He's also getting Hurricane recruiting mail, but says he isn't sure whether UM will offer.

A possible hold up in an offer from Miami: Beard missed the final three games last season with a torn ACL, and he believes programs are waiting to see how he comes back this season before offering.

"I don't know if Miami will offer, but hopefully they do," Beard said. "My brother is a big fan of Miami - he got me into the whole Miami thing. I've been watching them, am a fan.

"In letters Miami has told me about the campus and things like that, say they're interested in me."

Beard says if UM offers "They're in the top 3, definitely."

For now he lists a top three of Missouri, Arizona and Colorado.
