Guest baseball25 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Right now, I consider Fedor the best pound-for-pound fighter in MMA, and I don't think his refusal to fight in the UFC should move him down. But I do think if you're going to be considered the best, you have to keep fighting high-quality opposition. And if Fedor either sits out while he engages in long, drawn-out contract negotiations or starts fighting opponents who aren't among the Top 10 heavyweights in the world, his ranking will suffer. I believe Fedor is the greatest fighter in the world, but I also believe that great athletes need to test themselves against other great athletes. If Fedor doesn't do that, he's not the greatest anymore.
venom33 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 There are three kinds of Fedor "fans": 1. Ex Pride fans who KNOW he's the best fighter in the world in any weight class 2. UFC fans who also know this, but hate him for not fighting in the UFC for their entertainment 3. TUF noobs who have no business having an opinion on the matter Much like Dana, most fall into category 2. But with the recent collapse of Affliction you saw the dream before your eyes. The man you secretly love and admire was about to fight for "your" organization, and you could finally claim fanship. Your Fedor t-shirts were on order. And then SLAP CHOP! Fedor pulls the rug out from under you! To the #1 fans, it makes no difference. The #2 fans feel like they just let themselves be vulnverable only to be laughed at and mocked. "I was ready to love you Fedor... sniff sniff... how could you do this to me!?" #3... you don't really matter anyway. Fedor IS the best fighter in the world, and Dana can't get him, and neither can you. You have to play by Fedor's rules.
LUFAN Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Fedor is showing himself to be nothing but vlads puppet... It is sad... I enjoyed watching Fedor in Pride... Since he is the best I would like to see him in the best organization and right now that is the UFC... He will no longer be sitting at the top of the P4P rankings if he lands in strikeforce...of fighting minowaman in dream...

Guest baseball25 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 werdum sucky fight, Monson sucky fight, lashley will get beat down, i'd rather see him Mir,couture, carwin, velesquez, kongo, lesnar, Nogeria, cro crop, anderson silva, machida, rampage, sho gun and some of the lightheavyweight guys that can move up to heavyweight or fight fedor at a catch weight
silentassasin Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 venom you crack me up with the line about the TUF noobs not having an opinion that matters!! It is exactly how I feel. It is like the kids who go out in the TAPOUT or Affliction gear but have no idea who the fighters are.
