HoopInsider_Cooper Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Gulley will head to Highland CC in Highland, Kansas. Highland competes in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference against the likes of nationally ranked Barton County & Cowley.
Spanky Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Isn't this the school that former LSCPA coach Cole went to? Wonder if he will try to recruit some more young men from down our way?
Bucof2010 Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Shame he's not goin to lamar leson learned the hard way I guess.
Spanky Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Shame he's not goin to lamar leson learned the hard way I guess. Please let me know if I am wrong, but isn't Jamar primarially an inside player. At about 6'3" or 6'4" can he play a 4 or 5 position at Lamar? A very good player, I thought, but maybe he will be best served by going to a JC and working on playing a small forward position.
Lazeek Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 If this is the same school then HJ's Ryan Donahoe and Jarvis Benard are both on this team as well!!!!
Guest nostradamus Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 HJ's Ryan Donahoe, Jarvis Benard, Duane Durley will be attending Highland JC also this year
BMTSoulja1 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Congrads to Gulley on playing at the next level. Yes, he is an inside player, but he uses his body very good and drawing fouls. He will be really impressive at Highland CC.
shorttexas1 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Gulley rarely exploited his inside game while in high school... He mostly went to slashing to the rim and taking 15 ft jump shots. Yes he has a large frame and was one of the strongest players in the area but he rarely played as a post-up player! His natural position is 2-guard but he has to get a better work-out ethic, tends to have weight issues, though he is not a "fat" kid. He has a high level of skill, but his outsid shot is not consistant. He reminds me of Jeremy Long!
BMTSoulja1 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 I agree. He should have been working on his outside game all summer long. Because he will be playing guard in college.

BMTSoulja1 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Yes, that's him. There is another Central standout in football that I hear is doing some nice things. Julley's Brother James Gulley. I guess he is Jr? Heard from their cousin that he's going to Wisconsin...

Master T Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 I can see Jarvis Benard, Ryan Donahue and Jamar Gulley taking HCC far in the conference. I can't recall the name Duane Durley, can someone refresh my memory.
LamarStatesports Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Durley also is a HJ graduate. He was a reserve on the junior college D-III national championship team at Richland College in Dallas this past year.
