Alistair Overeem? He hasn’t defended the belt in like two years. It’s Strike-Farce. It’s a little regional show with no one in it…. [Fedor Emelianenko will] put them out of business. They have no money and no distribution. You know how many people watch their fights? Their last fight [on Showtime cable], 245,000 people watched that fight. That’s nothing…. I offered him a great deal. I guarantee you the Strikeforce deal wasn’t in the same universe with ours. it wasn’t close. They probably didn’t even pay him as much as Affliction was.â€

UFC President Dana White provides his latest comments on the surprise Strikeforce acquisition of Fedor Emelianenko earlier this week. White admits that he was “miserable†for two days after talks broke down, but realizes now that the Russian never had any intentions of fighting inside the Octagon. If Strikeforce, which was established in 1985 as a kickboxing organization and transitioned to MMA in 2006, does go out of business because of the Emelianenko deal it won’t be the first promotion to go under that has enlisted the services of “The Last Emperor†— Pride FC, BoDog and Affliction MMA have all vanished. Not saying it will happen again, but just worth noting. For the record, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker brushed the comments aside in a conference call earlier this afternoon, saying “Dana White is a promoter and will say what he’s going to say, but we’ve been in business a long time and look forward to putting some on big shows with Fedor.†It’s safe to say the war has begun.

He's butthurt that he miserably failed to sign the best P4P fighter in the world.

Instead, poor Dana will put on Chris Tuscherer vs Justin Mc Cully & Cheikh Kongo vs Pat Barry...ya know the usual blockbuster hw fights.

He sounds like a scorned woman who didnt get what she wanted and now shes pissed at the world and will bash anyone. Its over, Fedor didnt sign, move on so we can look forward to Lesnar/Mir 23... :-\

Heavyweight divison in the UFC is still better than strikeforce and every MMA expert says that, Dana was just trying to get the fight that every Fan wants, but FEDOR the pansy that he is won't even talk to dana white he makes his manager do all the talking, I mean he's going to have to sign with UFC sooner or later just plain and simple but oh well I mean nobody cares werdum and rogers, the only fight there is overeem and who has he beat in the top 10?

you talk about mma experts.... fedor vs. overeem is a fight alot of those "experts" are looking forward to seeing.  theres alot of very interesting fights out there for fedor and there was really only one in the ufc. the only real challenge in the ufc would be lesnar and i believe fedor would end that in the later part of the first round via sub. these are all opinions, and unless the ufc buys strikeforce we will never see.

this cant be proven,yet, but i would put money on overeem wrecking ANYONE, including lesnar, in the ufc hw division!

opinions,opinions,opinions....what matters is the fights. some people will agree with you and some wont. thats why the games are played and the fights are fought. it doesnt matter what the talking heads say....

i agree with you about the only good fight for fedor in strikeforce is overeem, but the beauty of his contract is he can fight elsewhere besides strikeforce...so with the exception of the ufc hw's he will be able to fight ANYONE.

i dont put a whole lot into that top 10 thing anymore... i mean look at it, half of the fighters dont belong on there. depending on which list you look at it it contains mir,couture,cro-cop, cain, arlovski, nog???? c'mon baseball.... mir,cain,and couture???????? baseball.... mir??????  c'mon!!! mir????  ;D

Hey thats just the way it is I mean Rankings mean alot if they didn't then we wouldn't have any in boxing,college football,and MMA and Mir isn't a bad fighter if he has his head on straight,  lol ut and silent wouldn't be able to handle it, we are die hard MMA fans too all 12 of us but we dog fedor because we want him in the UFC and he lets his Manager do his dirty work since he can't be a man and make his own decison and do what the fans want for once lol. Well if you can't come this time then maybe next, because we would have fun talking trash about fedor and strikeforce that has Overeem and Rogers thats it, atleast UFC has some up and comers and you know you would love to see Couture,lesnar,mir,Kongo,Cro crop, velesquez, carwin, Gonzaga, Nogueira ,Hague, and then you have machida,rampage,anderson silva,evans, and he would prob win most of them but those are still good fights to watch and are better than any fight strikeforce and M1 can put up.... because I mean those guys can move up to heavyweight so he would have alot of guys he could fight and thats all in the UFC ....strikeforce has 2 guys thats it..Even though Fedor has fought nogueira and cro crop I would like to see him fight them in the ocatagon because its a little different.
