underarmor Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Saw Buna,Kirbyville and Evadale. Kirbyville has some hitters and looks like they will be pretty good. May have one of the best hitters around. Buna is much improved and will not be easy to beat. They are very gritty and wont quit. Evadale will be competitive with the 2A schools and will be a challenge for 1A A lot of athletic young ladies and all exhibit a love for the game Good luck to all..
dascoon08 Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 what i saw in Evadale was they need to jump higher and have quicker arms on the spikes other than that they were pretty solid this is just an opinion from a loyal fan
trophyman Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 what i saw was good play from some girls that havent got back into the game just yet coach will have it worked out before long
underarmor Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 8/8/09 After having to play in their old gym last year the Evadale Lady Rebels finally got to play in their brand new gym on Saturday. Hurricane Ike did about the same damage as Rita in 2005 and indoor sports were moved to the old gym for the 2008-09 season. But Saturday the Lady Rebels tested out the new floor with a scrimmage against Legacy Christian of Beaumont. Things went well for the Lady Rebels as they cruised to a 3 game win,(25-6,25-14,25-14) in their final tune up before opening the season at home against Newton on Tuesday the 11th. The JV will start at 4:30 with the Varsity to follow. This years roster includes : Ariel Wills SR Ashton Clark JR Kacy Jones SO Carly Drake SR Haliegh Conner JR Bailey Gravis SR Kelsey Landers JR Charity Schultz SR Kayla Peevey JR
phunter308 Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Got to watch some good scrimmages at Nederland over the weekend. Bcats looked OK need alittle help with setter but good team chemistry. H-F good team speed very close to being an excellent team. Kountze looked ok small team in size and players but work hard. Nederland looked good excellent team chemistry first in a few years alittle slow on defense. WBrook looked ok not real fast play need better team chemistry but will be tough in 5a. All in all everyone played decent but it looked like H-F and Nederland played the best but scrimmages are not games, but I think these two teams will be tough in their prospective districts.
