KFDM COOP Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Brandon Belt signs with SF Giants Texas first baseman Brandon Belt from Lufkin Hudson has signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants organization. Yahoo Sports first reported the signing on their website. Belt, a first baseman, was selected in the fifth round of the MLB Amateur Draft in June. His signing comes less than a week before the August 17th deadline for drafted players to sign a professional contract.
