liltex Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Lights in and around the pier-boat ramps are back on.A nice bay pier for everybody to enjoy both young and old.Great place to take a kid fishing/crabbing and skeeters are rarely a problem out over the water. My son fished there last night boxing 4 legal flounder w/the largest over 20" under the lights.Fall weather it will only get better.Catch it right and catch some specks. For years we have night fished here and have caught as many as 30 flounder w/alot just under 14"and now and then several over 21"all at night.Bait=Live will work but rig 2 crappie jigs in tandem like a speck rig-Color white,chartreuse,yellow-cast just beyond the lights, let it sink to bottom, reel slow, raising the rod tip now and then.Sometimes they will smack it hard, sometimes they'llbite soft and move off with it.Reg.speck rig will work-glow or white seems to work the best.Dead shrimp will catch croaker, sand trout, hardheads, and when the fresh water runoff's come down the river you catch high fin blue catfish.I have caught reds but never a legal size there. On down the road south we have caught some lg.reds.Good Luck-Keep it clean.
