SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 alright Eagles!!!!!! Now since we are there we have go to keep teams off that target the AP produced.....again way to go Eagles
BigTuna Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Hull-Daisetta got 3 votes. Not bad. Are they any good?
AggiesAreWe Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Enjoy your one week at #1, Newton. Tigers put Tatum back on top next week.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 did they forget to put the tigers in the standing...how dare they leave the tigers out of the top 10 wait top 20 wait they are not even listed.....hmmm its a shame to be forgotten
KFDM COOP Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 HD looking good, keep up the good work.
mustangfan Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 i really think tatum is number 1 and newton not far behind. i think newton hasnt shown enough in my eyes just yet to be number 1
AggiesAreWe Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Well, like I posted earlier, at least you guys could enjoy one week at #1. Good luck rest of the year.
Guest Bridge City Card Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Ya'll should win, Hell your a big 3A school, there're 2A. And they still almost won.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Well' date=' like I posted earlier, at least you guys could enjoy one week at #1. Good luck rest of the year.[/quote'] and how many weeks has Silsbee enjoyed at #1..... I guess the modified quote would go. "Ah to have been #1 in the polls for one day is far better than to have never been there at all."
AggiesAreWe Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I don't think using the word "should" is the right way to put it. Could win, yes, but not should when you are talking about Newton. They have clearly shown in the past that classification means nothing to them. They have beaten many a good upper classification teams in the past and will so in the future. They have already beaten 2 big 3A schools this year in Crockett and Jasper. I believe they would beat Bridge City this year also, if scheduled.
AggiesAreWe Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I agree, Newton Broadcaster, I agree.
Guest Stack Backer Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Ya'll should win' date=' heck your a big 3A school, there're 2A. And they still almost won.[/quote'] Newton would defintly woop BC. BC had its own trouble almost being beat by kelly. Give credit when credit is due. Newton has beaten two big 3A programs the past 2 weeks .
SHS-84 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Newton has a very good team as expected and should go far this year. Silsbee has a good team as well, and still has a lot of room for improvement. The Tigers kept the penalties down to a minimum against Newton, but are still having trouble holding on to the football or should I say, not letting go of the football. The QB can't seem to let go of the ball on the exchange. All in all, both teams fought hard for the win, but the clock ran out on Newton. Congrats to the Tigers!
TigerCoach Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 What ashame. Newton begins the slow descent. What ashame to be forgotten Mr. Newton Broadcaster.
Guest Stack Backer Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 All in all' date=' both teams fought hard for the win, but the clock ran out on Newton. Congrats to the Tigers![/quote'] The clock never ran out on newton. Silsbee had newton 4th and 13 and rocky calhoun came up with the interception to seal the win for the tigers.
vp93 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I'm sure he meant that when Newton got the ball back with 2 min left, they had to all but abandon the running game they had been ridding all night. Thus leading to the int.
Tiger90 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Granted it was a good solid win for Silsbee but definitely no room for gloating/bragging etc.. Good luck to Newton, they will do very well once again.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 What ashame. Newton begins the slow descent. What ashame to be forgotten Mr. Newton Broadcaster. I dont understand the ashame part and the decent part? are you gloating about Silsbee who is supposed to make the playoff beating Newton? Do you realize that you will be meeting bigger schools called 3A. You do know that right? would you gloat beating Burkville? but if you must gloat and feel good about yourselve thats ones priveledge. good luck to the Tigers in 3A football. hey longtime Silsbee poster I was being sarcastic towards Tigercoach's comment no disrespect towards the tigers

NOTWEN Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH SILSBEE THEY HAD A LOT OF SIZE AND SPEED, AND THEY PLAYED A VERY GOOD GAME WITH NEWTON, AND DID BEAT THEM. I THINK THE GAME COULD HAVE WENT EITHER WAY BUT THE TIGERS A MORE VETRAN TEAM WANTED IT MORE. I AM ALSO IN LOVE WITH THOSE EAGLES AND I REALY LIKE THE PROGRESS THEY ARE MAKING. THEY ARE A YOUNG TEAM AND WERE NO WERE NEAR A NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE STATE YET. IF THEY GET IT TOGETHER BY THE END OF THE YEAR AND LEARN HOW TO CATCH A FEW BALLS INSTEAD OF RUNNING 45 TIMES A GAME THEY MAY WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. THANKS FOR A GOOD GAME SISLBEE YOU DESERVED THE WIN AND ARE A GREAT TEAM " HEY GUYS THAT WHITE GUY FROM NEWTON #21 IS HELL AINT HE ! HE CAN REALLY RUN THE BALL. HE IS ONLY A SOPH. NEWTON WILL CHALLENGE FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT YEAR"
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 #21 is James Burch, a three way starter for Newton , offence , defence and special team. He has show just how much speed he has...from eluding tackles to open field running (talk about after burners) He will be a name to watch, along with Jenkins and NIcho Adams and a host of other Eagles
