raideroldtimer Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Why would we even want one, unless you can figure out to get Golden Triangle residents to watch a professional team play. The high schools will never be able to afford a dome, especially with the amount that BISD pays it's super, no money is left over for that.

PURPLE 4EVER Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 They got one... The rodeo arena at the old state fair grounds. The surface there is better than the Babes
Bigdog Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Lol. Won't happen. Look at what's going on at Ford Park.
Guest coachacola Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Get Walter Umphrey to buy the Astrodome and move it to downtown Beaumont.

The reason this would never happen is because of the salary of one southeast Texas superintendant. Brilliant don't know why we didn't think of that sooner. LOL! I don't think it would ever happen because it would take buy in and collaboration from several area districts and that would never happen. It's rare that one school district can come to agreement on their own issues, even more unlikely that they can all come to a place of agreement on a single issue that affects many.
dawgnut Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 You can't get everyone in the county to agree on Ford Park, can you imagine if someone did get the guts to build one. They wouldn't make it till the next election. We have a lot of wealthy people in this area, but the money stays in their pockets!
bulldawg64 Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 i myself rather see football played outside in the elements, and on grass.
Keyser Soze Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 I could see a Ozenalized or West Brookalized dome but, never a Centralized. That would be stupid!!
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 27, 2009 Author Report Posted August 27, 2009 I could see a Ozenalized or West Brookalized dome but, never a Centralized. That would be stupid!! centralized area to where ALL area teams could play some games there.

Coop said in another post that 2.29" fell over in WO today and more rain is expected on Friday before kick off.
Raider81 Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Why would SETX need a domed stadium? How would we support a domed stadium? What would be the justification for having one?
LTrain Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Why would SETX need a domed stadium? How would we support a domed stadium? What would be the justification for having one? We dont, We cant, And none for the last question. It would take away from High School Football to play in a dome, until you get to the playoffs or State

Vince Young's teams played the majority of their games there at the Astrodome from what I saw while he was in school.
