Guest Kelly Football Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 All Time SouthEast Texas Fantasy Football Team What would be your all time SE Texas high school fantasy football team, RB, QB, Lineman, Receivers, Kicker for offense and Lineman, LB and secondary for Defense.
footballfan88 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 tj light at LB from Lumberton...
Guest Kelly Football Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Imagine This team.... QB..Beasley RB...Mosley/Patton From Jasper WR's..Memorial's WR's OL.....PN-G Defensive Line..Dayton
footballfan88 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 sounds good but i think would be even better with neds OL
WOS92 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I'd stick these former WO-S guys in there, but I'm a homer: CB Kevin Smith (A&M, Cowboys) LB Paul Thomas LB Gayron Allen (Oklahoma)

Hupernikomen Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Shane Dronett DE BC Curtis Soleau (sp?)TE Lincoln Are two I saw play that I haven't seen mentioned. Could mention some Jasper guy's but I am biased.
Guest Wildcat 08 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 RB Hadnot from Kirbyville, he opened some eyes.
JMay Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 QB - James Brown WB QB - Dustin Long PNG RB - Jerry Ball - WB RB - Jamal Charles PAM RB - Lendon Henry TJ RB - Leeland McElroy - Central FB - Josh Cook PNG WR - Pierce Pegross TJ - Didn't he play for ATL C - Calvin Collins - WB G - Frank Middleton - WB CB - Kevin Smith - WOS K - Kieth Waguespack - PNG It just seems to me the talent level was far superior 10 years ago...but still no more entertaining.

tvc184 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 When you say the alltime Southeast Texas team, that is a tall order. I don't know if any of the current players make the list although some may eventually. You would have to be talking about people like Kevin Smith, Little Joe Washington, Bubba Smith, Steve Wooster, Frank Middleton, Jerry Ball, Mel Farr, Shane Dronett, Gary Hammond, and so on.

My list only covers the times I remeber well, which may be why I wonder if talent level was down. Perhaps it was just the time I was in school and could relate closer to it. I still say there is nothing better to do than sit in a SE Texas Football Stadium on a Friday night. And it doesn't matter which stadium your at.
LHSRaiderAlum Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 here are a few lumberton guys to consider Light-NG Willie ray smith award Winchester-LB Eckert-QB Willie Ray Smith award Adams-WR Talbert-WR Kitchens-K Luttrull-QB Ware-QB Hulett-OL just a few guys who went on to excel in college
VPiratefan2007 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 QB-hood Rb-charles Rb- troy summeral wr-any from PAM OL-have to say vidors when healthy DL-dayton cb-rick culbert FS-ivery williams SP-vidor
WOS92 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Did Eckert excel in college? I wasn't sure. I knew his dad. While we're homering out, Gayron Allen won a national title at OU. When it comes to offensive weapons, Beasley was as good and versatile as they come. Who is Culbert? I think you have to put K. Smith in first at CB.
jdawg03 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Imagine This team.... QB..Beasley RB...Mosley/Patton From Jasper WR's..Memorial's WR's OL.....PN-G Defensive Line..Dayton LOL...Patton is no where close to being the best rb to ever come through Jasper..probably not even in the top 20...
VPiratefan2007 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 rick culbert from vidor...he ran like a 4.2 and went to arkansas to play CB....i think he played RB/QB for vidor when they had the opption.............he also placed second in the district track meet running a 9 something right behind ivory williams
jdawg03 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Eugene Seale- Jasper/Lamar/Houston Oilers Zach Bronson- Jasper/McNeese/49ers (Pro Bowl) Ben Bronson- Jasper/Baylor/Jets/Colts Derrick Armstrong- Jasper/Texans-still playing Joseph "Red" Bryant- Jasper/Texas A&M Sean Weatherspon- Jasper/Mizzou I could go on....but ill let the rest of the Jasper guys finish it up!
WOS92 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Might as well make out a WO-S (and pre-WOS) list, not suggesting that all are worthy: Kevin Smith - (CB) holds record for ints in SWC at A&M/3 rings with Dallas Chris Cole - (WR) A&M/Broncos Ernie Ladd - (DT) Grambling/Oilers/Chiefs Giles Cole - (TE) SFA/briefly with Vikings Kendall Cleveland - (RB) LSU/briefly with Bills Kenneth Beasley - (QB/CB/WR) currently at UT Kerry Franks Jr. - (RB/WR) currently at A&M Kerry Franks Sr. - (RB) I believe OSU Jermaine Hope - (CB) Tulsa Michael Ledet - (S/LB) Tulsa Jeff Thibodeaux - (CB) Tulsa Gayron Allen - (LB) national title at OU Earl Thomas - (CB) committed to UT Brian Cleveland - (RB) Georgia (behind Herschel Walker) Coaches who are Orange natives (born in Orange) who are notable: Bum and Wade Phillips RC Slocum I don't know how that last section is relevant to fantasy, but I was unaware that the Phillips were both Orange natives.
wo-76 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 add Chris Ori {Texas Tech} Earnest Anderson {Oklahoma State} to the list.
MikeEast Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 We are talking about HIGH SCHOOL here . Not college or professional. Lots of great names mentioned here though. Names that are not on the list of great players. From my home school and not yet mentioned. Sean Yoder -WR/DB Scott/Jeff Mayhew- OL/DL Ryan Peletiere-DB Michael Boyd- LB Ryan Cobb-LB Ryan Sanchez- DE Aubrey Brisendyne-LB From the district that are memorable for me. Paul Thomas- WOS Tim Feathers- WOS TE from TJ that went to Miami- cant remember his name- Kevin Edwards?? Calvin Roberts- Lincoln Jeff Bergeron-PNG Bo Wortham-PNG Chris Goelke- PNG
HDBobcats9 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Dont' know if these guys compare to any of the Jasper/WOS guys ect. but they were the best we've had down in Daisetta. WR-Juan Gomez 6'1" 175lbs. 4.5 40yd dash. 1st team all-state and had 49 catches for 1,480 yards and 21TD's.....in 9 games. He was double and trippled teamed every play after the first or second game of the season and it didnt' matter. I remember seeing him catch 4TD's against P.A. Austin in the first half with 3 or 4 guys guarding him every play. He was one tough cookie and by the way led HD with 140 tackles at middle linebacker. Played at Ranger JC and was supposed to go to Nebraska, but never did. RB- Joe Allen Slack 6'1" 185lbs. 4.4 40yd dash. Was all everything at Hull-Daisetta in the early 90's making all-state RB two years, all-state basketball 3 times and went to the state track meet in the 100/200 meter dash. Didnt' go play college ball anywhere which is sad because he could have played D.I almost anywhere at 6'3" 225lbs. (size he grew to shortly after HS) He now coaches at Hardin High School.
tvc184 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 ........................TE from TJ that went to Miami- cant remember his name- Kevin Edwards??.......... Kevin Everett
