Lee won the simulated game part 3-0 on a field goal according to the Baytown Sun.  They did say a long td was called back for Lee because of a block in the back that the LCM coaches called.  Also, LCM was on the goalline when the scrimmage was called a bit early due to too much jawing after the plays.

in over all scrimmage score it was bears 14 to 10 but in game situation we trailed 3-0 we where on the 1 yard like with a fresh set of downs when i fight broke out and ended the game with a little over a minute left...with that remaining minute we would have surely tied or won the scrimmage

Maybe...or you might have fumbled and Lee might have ran it back to make it 10-0. 

As it is, it was 3-0 with a long Lee td called back by an alleged block in the back that the LCM coaches called.

Ganders show fire, execution in final tuneup

The Lee Ganders ended the longest preseason camp of any area team with plenty of punch and plenty of fight Thursday night at Stallworth Stadium.

Actually, the team’s second scrimmage in five days ended a minute, 25 seconds early when the Lee and Little Cypress-Mauriceville coaches decided they’d seen enough of after-the-whistle pushing and shoving.

The Ganders prevailed in the almost-two quarters of game-like play 3-0 or 10-0 – depending on how many scores you count – and LC-M was on the Gander 2-yard line when the glorified practice ended.

“We definitely got better,†first-year Lee head coach Marvin Sedberry, Jr., said when it was over, comparing his team’s effort to Saturday’s scrimmage at Deer Park. “We looked pretty good at times.â€

The Ganders rolled up 101 yards of total offense in two time consuming drives in the “game†situation, and that didn’t include a 57-yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Malcolm Ruben to sophomore Jaevon Richardson that Sedberry disallowed.

“They (the LC-M coaches) said we blocked in the back,†he said. “We didn’t have any officials, because of the rescheduling, so we went with what they said.â€

The scrimmage was originally scheduled for Friday, but the switch a couple of weeks ago to Thursday found the officials booked on other varsity or junior varsity games.

Richardson, a freshman standout for last year’s Lee basketball team, had an interception for Lee’s first-team defense in the controlled part of the scrimmage, when each team’s No. 1s ran 15 plays.

Ruben, a junior who appears to have won the Ganders’ No. 1 quarterback job, fumbled a handoff to Dandrick Jackson on the second play of the scrimmage, but completed 3 of 5 passes for 25 yards in the first 15 plays, adding runs of 16 and nine yards.

For the night, he was 4 of 10 passing for 33 yards.

Senior Daniel Guzman quarterbacked the No. 2 offense for 11 plays in the early going and completed 3 of 4 passes for 47 yards, including an 11-yard TD pass to Richardson.

Besides the quarterbacks and Richardson, who had four catches for 45 yards (getting credit for five yards on the 57-yard TD callback), another highlight was the running of Jackson, who gained 77 yards on 11 carries overall.

“It’s all us,†Sedberry said when asked if the big plays showed improvement by his team or a drop in the caliber of competition between Deer Park and LC-M, a team picked eighth in District 20-4A. “We’ve got so many kids that had never played varsity football before.â€

Defensively, the Ganders may have found another defensive stopper in 295-pound Xavier Ruben, the blue chip offensive tackle, who made several crushing tackles in a rare turn on defense.

Trey Murray, the all-district linebacker moved to safety, was another big hitter for Lee.

But big plays allowed LC-M to outscore Lee in the first part of the scrimmage 2 touchdowns to 1.

The secondary gave up a 33-yard pass that set up a three-yard TD run on a missed tackle by middle linebacker Ismael Fuentes.

Then LC-M’s No. 2s finished off their part of the controlled scrimmage with a 20-yard completion followed by a 19-yard TD pass on which it appeared the receiver was out of bounds.

LC-M, like Lee, had only two possessions in the two quarters played at the end. The first was a three-and-out and the second one, the 13-play, 63-yard drive that ended the night, was kept alive by pass completions on third-and-four, third-and-five and fourth-and-14.

After the long TD pass to Richardson was wiped out, Lee’s first drive of the timed “game†ended when Jackson was stopped on fourth-and-1.

Jackson’s 33-yard burst moved Lee’s final possession of the night inside LC-M territory, setting up a 36-yard field goal by Emmanuel Torres.

At the end of the scrimmage, Sedberry admonished his team for its part in the after-the-whistle ugliness and had them run sprints.

“We’re ready (for the season),†the coach said, meaning Lee’s season opener Sept. 4 at home against La Porte. “We’ve been banging against each other forever.

“Now it counts.â€

I heard the LC-M coaches did not officiate the the game... Lee coaches did.  Also heard there were multiple clips and the Lee coaches brought it back because they witnessed at least two of the "alleged" blocks in the back.

Unless he can control the entire school, that problem will not be fixed. From the stories we hear from other teachers, the inmates are running the asylum.

Somehow two of the fastest players we had coming back, CJ Mixon and Adam Maguire, are no longer listed on the roster.

I'm not sure if they moved or got kicked off the team or what.

It's going to hurt though.

I can remember all of the Sterling fans being upset, claiming that Olin was stealing Sterling players lol

Football in Baytown goes in cycles. It's going to be a short cycle for the Rangers. Realignment into a larger district will stop their brief playoff run, as well as the growth of GCM.

C.J. has not grown much since Jr High, he is still very fast. You should have seen the skill position talent on Gentry's football team three years ago. Speed Kills! C. Nelson, P. Jacobs, V. Anderson, C. Mixon, F. Rogers, etc...I would bet not one of those guys run over a 4.5!

There are kids at all three schools that will move for "athletic" purposes. D. Jackson was at GCM last year for about two weeks, then felt compelled to go to Lee. The only way it's going to stop is for the UIL to stop keeping score at the games.

That is the most biased, unfair piece of crap i have ever read and the reporter is either a major "homer" or was not at the game.  Lee offensive lineman held EVERY PLAY (I saw the game) and two major pass interferences were not called.  The "long touchdown" off te screen pass had at least 2 block in the backs that affected the play.  Aldrick Jones (the receiver who caught the second string td pass) had one foot in bounds AT LEAST.  And a big run is the only reason Lee scored anyway.  A pathetic piece of reporting.

I doubt seriously that Dave rogers would be THAT biased against a Golden Triangle area team.  The guy bleeds Golden Triangle blood.  He is not a native Baytownian and has no bias towards any of the Baytown high schools in any of the articles I have ever read from him.
