Vidor will be good no doubt!! WO-S looked like a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT team Friday Night. Scrimmages don't mean Jack Crap and most Coaches don't prepare for them. You have no Special teams play in scrimmages such as kickoff returns, Punt returns etc...

That I agree with. The problem is we really don't know how good Nederland is this year eith ;)er right?

Coop explain this for me please? Are you saying that Vidor is not as good as you thought? Or WOS is better than you thought? Help me with this.  ???

From what I've seen in some of Coop's earlier posts, when WO-S loses a scrimmage then it no longer matters ... so much for building of the team, technique, offensive playcalling, defensive playcalling, tweaking of routes, etc...

I think scrimmages are important for ALL of this. What do you think, Pirate For Life?

I agree cutlass! Either way you look at it we took it to a really good WOS team. It is funny everyone gives Nederland credit no matter how good or bad they do. If they do good they are just that good. If they do bad they were playing a really good team. It may be that Nederland is just not that good this year. Could it happen? :o

Why can't our fans show some type of optimism after this game ? Instead of saying that Vidor is not a good team because they only beat us by 21 points how about giving our boys some credit. Look at it this way , our team allowed 415 yards rushing last night and WOS allowed 397 yards rushing last week against the same team. WOS just beat Nederland 42 - 21. Do you think just maybe that Kelly has a good team this year , well I do. I think this is without a doubt the best team that we have had in a long time. This is definitely something that the Kelly team can build on if our fans show that they believe in their team instead of doubting them all the time. As for Vidor goes they will do great this season . I'm just sick of the attitude of our fans and the loss of school spirit. You all know that Vidor could have punched a few more TD's into the endzone but their coach showed class by not doing so. I just wish that our coach would have showed a little also.

I would like to apologize to the Vidor fans as the chanting from our side was completely uncalled for and I hope that it does not leave you with the impression that all of our fans are like that.

this is the exact post i was looking for!!! thank you, i was hoping that someone would mention the wos game, i truly believe that we could have played better, but we didn't play terrible like most of the posters would like you to believe, i just think kelly has a pretty good team

NO scrimmage matters. Any coach will tell you. Most Coaches don't prepare for an oppenent for a scrimmage, WO-S was preparing for Nederland for 2 weeks and it showed.

coop if a scrimmage doesn't matter then why would coaches even book them? and why would vidor and wos book a scrimage when they are two of the frontrunners, risk injury and the like for something that "doesn't mean jack crap"

He did not man handle him. He gave him an old fashion butt chewing because he got a dead ball personnel foul called on him after they had stopped Vidor on 3rd down. This gave Vidor a first down and they scored on the next play.The parents need to worry about the behavior going on in the stands instead of a coach doing his job. By the way I thought the Kelly coaches did a great job. 45 was a beast at middle linebacker.

I'm just sick and tired of hearing the people from WOS say the same thing "It was a scrimmage, it doesn't matter..." If a scrimmage doesn't matter, then what is the point of covering it on this site, or creating a thread about it? I GUARANTEE you that if West Orange had "won" the scrimmage, you wouldn't hear that phrase I mentioned earlier, even once... The point of playing against someone, is to beat them, no matter what... You cannot tell me that WOS drove all the way to Vidor to not beat them in some sort of fashion, because that's ludicrous... So whenever someone from Vidor mentions that we "beat" WOS on that day, in which we did, don't get so downright defensive, you're making yourself look that much worse... I'm tired of Vidor not getting any credit whatsoever in anything... Yes it's been that way forever, but by God for once we have something good going for us, and Lord forbid that we are happy and excited about it... So get down off your high chair for once and realize that getting "beat" at something isn't the end of the world... As you can tell, we don't have the best record over the years, and we've had our fair share of losses but you know what? We're still alive and kicking and never giving up...

I held that in for as long as I possibly could but I finally had to let it out... Hate me if you want but it had to be said... And btw, when I mentioned "the people from WOS" I didn't direct that to everyone, just a few in particular...

I'm not from Kelly and my wife is from Vidor, which is why I was at the game.  I watched #30, I believe(small back) cut block at the knees all night.

Yes, I was there.  Discount my "oppinion" if you want.  Look at my posts.  I said some kids(punks) might have been cussing, but it sure wasn't the adults.  I guarantee they have more class than that.  The poster tried to make it sound like all Kelly fans are unchristian-like.

I like Vidor myself but I am one who refuses to give them credit. They have to earn my credit or respect. What have they done so far thisseason to earn it.You practiced a good practice game against wos. Ill give that to you you deserve it. Now lets talk about this week you played Kelly whom is a small private school while the other teams in our district  are playing some serious competition. Next week the district will play even more seriouse opponents. while you guy play St Thomas. Then the next week the district will be playing and you will play HJ. This stratagy is not very recognizable in the seriousness catagory, That being said Vidor will probably compete well in district 204A best of luck to them. After you get through playing around in preseason and meet someone your own size then we can revisit the whole respect thing I will gladly then.

I'm sure you are right.  There are tons of great people in Vidor, but for one to get on here and dog Kelly fans, like they(Vidor) don't have any foul-mouth trash talkers, just bugs me a little.
