Guest rykerx144 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Looks like Johnson was kinda quiet this game but doesnt look they needed much outta him anyway!
AggiesAreWe Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 Looks like Johnson was kinda quiet this game but doesnt look they needed much outta him anyway! He only played the first half, never saw the field in the 2nd half. 8-12 passing for 94 yards, 1 TD 2 carries 14 yards Silsbee did not need any heroics from Johnson tonight. The Tigers were just too much for Davis to handle.
Guest rykerx144 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I think they said Silsbee plays diboll next week and if thats the case then he probably wont see much action then either! Kville 62 diboll 20 tonite and could have easily been 80-14
AggiesAreWe Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 Davis is bad. It's not that they are bad, they just don't have the numbers that you would think a 1,600 enrollment 4A would have. They only suited out 20 players while Silsbee has 36 on varsity. Davis was pretty good last year, going 9-2 and advancing to the 3rd round. They defeated Yates last year for the first time in 30 years. They had some pretty good players last year. That is not the case this year though. They still had a few pretty good ones, just not enough. Houston Chronicle does have them making the playoffs this year.
Guest rykerx144 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 after looking at Diboll schedule theyll be lucky to get a win this year.
Lamar_Basketball Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Silsbee looked pretty good from what I saw on the news. Silsbee v. Lumberton should definitely be the Week 3 Game of the Week.

I am thinking maybe a JUCO, but not sure. Davis had a nice passing attack in that game last year. Usually they are not that good. The last sports star they had, that I can remember, plays center field for the tampa bay devil rays. namely Carl Crawford.

AggiesAreWe Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 Silsbee's first team defense only allowed 37 total yards of offense in the first half. Of the 200 total yards for Davis, 90 of it came on that one play in the second half. There were about 5 missed tackles on that 90 yard TD run, btw. Great night for the Tiger special teams. Two block punts, one returned for a TD and then a 67 yard punt return for TD. Big night for Chris Barnes and Rahkeem Bolton. Barnes had over 130 yards all purpose yardage with 3 TD's, while Bolton also had 3 TD's to go with his 110 all purpose yardage. It was good that the Tiger reserves got to play as much as they did, basically played the entire second half. This will help down the road.
