BigWolf10 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Word late last night from my son  ..  it's his ACL  .. This sux :'(, get well soon kid. Best wishes on a great future at Texas.
prepballfan Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Alot of people were worried about this. Best of wishes. Good Luck Kirby.
Guest currahee Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 you say "well, I dont think he should play football" but it is not what we want, you know, it is just unfortunate that this type of thing happens. hope you heal up soon, you have already made this area proud!
BoboandBlair Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I think its great he plays football, shows he is a tough kid and a true athlete. Kids like him are a big reason why Nederland has always been competitive in football. True, he could have called it quits and played it safe for his future at UT, but injuries are a part of the game, and adversity is a part of life. He will recover and be fine come bball season. If the kids in Orange County were multiple sport athletes and not focused on a so-called "career" as a hs kid most of them would be much better in fball too.
STiger85 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Wish him a speedy recovery. Didn't this same situation happen a couple years ago and Kirby got his start?
pngrick Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Sorry to hear about Kirby's injury, All PNG fans wish him fast recovery. MCM will not be the same without him! But the Bulldogs always find someone to quickly fill the shoes of a key player. Goodluck with the rest of your season!

We'll I'm thinking bobo meant the WOS kids would be better in Baseball, because they usually play pretty darn good football and have an awesome track team. Anyway, sorry to hear about the injury to young Mr' Bellow. Hopefully he'll be taken care of very quickly and get back to 100% before baseball starts back up. As for Nederland, it seems to me, a couple of years ago an outstanding senior QB was injured in a season ending injury in the first or second game when a sophomore stepped in and took the area by storm basically. Wasn't that kids' name something like Bellow? Good luck on your repair and rehab if it's needed Kirby and good luck Dawgs'

Whereas I think your first paragraph is honorable, I was wondering if you thought it necessary to pick on "Orange County" athletes.  Not sure to whom you are referring, but it sure does make the kind words offered at first sound sort of bitter.  What brought that on?Â

adminbaberuth Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Let's don't use Kirby's apparent injury which we know nothing until Monday to advance an agenda against other local athletes.
RustedCutlass Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Man, I hate to hear this. When I heard rumors that he might not play at all this year early this summer, I didn't know how Ned would look. But when I heard he was coming back (and he was the best QB in 20-4A last year guys, admit it) I picked Nederland to win district on another thread. Man that sucks. Take care of yourself, kid. I know it's tough watching your team from the sidelines, but right now you need to worry about you. God speed and prayers from us over here in the swamp.
Guest tigersvoice Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Sounds like he got his bell rung pretty good. Hope he is okay TEXAS would hate to loss this kid. This is a perfect example of not saying anything if you don't KNOW anything. Having your bell rung and tearing an ACL is quite a bit of difference.
shovel Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Whatever the injury is, I hope he recovers well. Kirby may well be the premier player in 20-4 a district. I was really looking forward to seeing him showcase his talents. Most important is that he is OK and heals well. Good Luck Kirby! Home to see you under center at MCM!
football04 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 If I was Kirby I would let Tyler have the rest of the season under center and go into baseball healthy and rested.
baddog Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I have it on DVR and it appears that Kirby was running and tried to cut back. When he planted, it appeared that his knee buckled and then he got tackled causing him to fumble. Maybe it's just real sore today....anyway I hope so. Give us some good news Kirby.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 i worried about this happenning ever since the UT thing came up. i hope he recovers fast and hope its just a knee sprain.

I hate to see kids get hurt. I wish he had a little bell ringing instead of a ACL. Best of luck to him in a speedy recovery.
