coachtroy8 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Texas City will be a great test for the Indian defense. With L-Town and Vidor tough running teams it will be good to see our defense line up to stop the run. The defense has only practiced and played against the spread.
Indianforever Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 i have faith that coach faircloth will have the boys ready for them just like he did for crosby
Indianforever Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 how is texas city's defense anybody know?
BMTSoulja1 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Texas City have athletes galor. Great test for the Indians as they will see athletic teams in this district...
maverick Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 TC had to come from behind to beat Alvin last night 28 - 24 on a TD pass with 16 seconds left. 0-2 Alvin has never been known as a 5A powerhouse and this TC team is nothing like the TC teams of the past. With that said, they still can not be taken lightly. This will be a good test for PN-G, but it is definitely a test the Inidians can pass if they limit their mistakes and seal the ends.
NDNWarrior Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 I believe the Indians will take this one. Faircloth will keep mixing things up on the offense, but I definitely think the defense is gonna have to step up this week. I've heard Tx City is a running team and has a lot of athletes. Glad we're playing at The Reservation!
Long Tall Texan Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 We have athletes too, and they can do more than just run. This will be a good one at the start i think until we start to pull away, then it could get bad. They are picked as a playoff team in their district also.

Is it Friday yet?
NDNTime Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 It appears that TC has a really good ground game. Last night against Alvin, their tailback had 34 rushes for 271 yds. By the looks of the stats, this game had nothing but offense for both teams though. I'm certain that the Indians will be able to move the ball all night on TC. The key will be making several key stops on D.
CowboysNIndians Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 What was going on with our run up the middle? It looked like the Indians ran the same play 7-8 times and Crosby never did stop the run. I think that kind of power up the middle will keep their D backs looking inside and open up the slant and screens. Great game last night.
NDN79 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Another good test for the Indians. T.C. is 2 - 0 and will be excited about their win in the last minute. I think the Indians will be able to adjust to a predominantly run defense without any problems. If the Indians get a lead early it may force T.C. to throw the ball more, and it sounds like they are not comfortable with that kind of offense.
Scalpem06 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 TC never comes into mid county to comfortable.. nederland always gave em hell
phantomfan910 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 This is a winnable game for the Indians, but keep in mind Texas City always seems to play better when everyone counts them out without fail.
bojonomore Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Our boys (LCM) scrimmaged them. Not great athletes but better than PNG's last year, (I can't say anything, haven't seen them this year.) They run a spread, pass prolly 33-40%. Defense is pretty good.
balla234 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 haha better than pngs last year? what was the score for the png lcm game?
PNG Proud Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 haha better than pngs last year? what was the score for the png lcm game? Does LCM even HAVE a team this yr.???
FriendswoodFan Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 TC is definitely not the TC of year's past. They are rebounding some, but still have a long way to go before they are back in the top half of our district. Based upon what I read about PNG, and what I know about TC, I see this as a pretty close game. I'll predict TC winning by 3.
Jackthehammer Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I thought TC was 1 and 1 but anyways. Im not sure I said PNG would lose last week I did not realize how bad poor Crosby was. Ill go with PNG but Im not sure its PNG's first game against a rush happy team. We will see.............................Seems like maybe LCM was the team that come out on top of there scrimmage.
KFDM COOP Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 They are. They lost to Lamar Consolidated and beat Alvin.
NDNWarrior Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I feel the Indians will prevail and take the "W" over Tx City. Faircloth is mixing up the plays and Doty/DeRon are connecting. Saw some real good timing patterns last week, a lot of excitement. Our defense will have to step up more against Tx City than they did Crosby, but I'm sure Faircloth will have them "primed" and running come Friday night!
