raideroldtimer Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Looking at the stats from their game against Alvin, they apparently don't have much defense. both teams had over 400 yards in offense, probably couldn't stop each other.
NewIndian Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 What was going on with our run up the middle? It looked like the Indians ran the same play 7-8 times and Crosby never did stop the run. I think that kind of power up the middle will keep their D backs looking inside and open up the slant and screens. Great game last night. The "O" line got over their first game jitters and started opening up big holes to run thru, notice on most runs he didnt get touched until he hit the secondary, and as long as "D" still causes turnovers (10 in the first 2 games) we will be alright
NDN79 Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 MY BAD!! T.C. IS 1 - 1, NOT 2 - 0 Thanks for the correction guys. I still think the Indians will be able to handle the run game of T.C. Look forward to the surprises the Indians have in store for this week!
prepballfan Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Ill go with PNG there defense has caused alot of turnovers in two games.
twincityindian Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Texas City will be a tough game for us but i think we prevail I know that faircloth will have them prepared just have to have the execution
TexAgNDN Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Cougars, TC knot up in scrimmage TEXAS CITY – Crosby’s football team beat the weather and tied Texas City in a football scrimmage Friday night. While the lightning strikes that caused postponement of scrimmages for the Baytown and Barbers Hill teams didn't affect Texas City, Cougar quarterback Dominic Merka did. He passed for two touchdowns, one an eight-yarder to Forrest Tyler and the other a 55-yard catch-and-run effort by M.J. Mathis. Texas City scored twice against Crosby’s starters. “I saw some good things and a bunch of stuff to work on,†Crosby head coach Kevin Flanigan said. “I thought our defense played well and M.J. Mathis had a real good night. I think he caught 10 passes.†Receiver Paul Erwin, tackle Michael Mangum, linebacker Anthony Nelson and defensive back Donnie Stark also impressed the coach. The Cougars open the season against Ennis in Waco next Saturday night at 7 p.m. Baytown Sun, 8-23-09 Maybe this info will shed a little more light on the TC / PN-G match up. For those of you that are saying "It was only a scrimmage". Yes it was only a scrimmage, BUT the Indians dominated Crosby, DOMINATED. The only reason Crosby got 7 was because of a fumbled punt return that gave them the ball on PN-Gs 20. Texas City is going to line up and Run, Run, and Run some more. It will be a great test for the Indians run defense. It wouldn't suprise me if TC breaks off a few long runs, its bound to happen when you run the ball 50 times. With that being said, and based on TC's performance against Crosby. I don't see them slowing down the Indians Offense at all. With another week of practice under PN-G's belt, I see it like this....................PNG 42 TC 14
19Bulldog99 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Png 35 TC 27 On a holding call (At the Res)
Scalpem06 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 yea.. png would destroy katy if it was at the rez thanks to the refs : :
shovel Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Thats why its called HOME field advantage. Y'all crack me up! ;D
NDN79 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 T.C. has turned the ball over several times in its first 2 games. No one is better at creating turn-overs( so far this season )than the Indian defense. Ilike the Indians to win this one! PN-G 42 T.C. 13
prepballfan Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Hey LCM fans didnt you guys scrimmage Texas City?
HuggyBear2010 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I'm gonna be watching for Ryan St. Clair to go out there and flat out murder Texas City's whole team. Look for him to crush somebody's facemask with his rock hard traps and delts!!!
jake94 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 With the expected rain and the wet field, give me the team that likes to run the ball and runs it pretty well. I think this will be a close ball game. TC 21 PNG 20
19Cherokee90 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I think I see a trend starting...each week all I read is how PNG will have a rough week. Staring with BH...which granted was 21-20...then Crosby with their "superman" QB... this week it is an unstopable running game. Hey..i'll take 2-0 and welcome all the nay sayers at this point. I was worried about last weeks Crosby game to be honest...this week Im more curious mixed with a minor piece of worried. Just another chance for PNG to prove what they have. Lets see how we handle the run this week and see what everyone has to say next week. Im predicting PNG by 14+
Long Tall Texan Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I'm gonna be watching for Ryan St. Clair to go out there and flat out murder Texas City's whole team. Look for him to crush somebody's facemask with his rock hard traps and delts!!! It will happen! Enjoy the game!
twincityindian Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 This will be a great test for both teams with a extra variable rain and lots of it should be awesome i love a good slug fest just no mud
prepballfan Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Its almost Indian football time!
Indianforever Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 its time to prove all those that believe PN-G wont have a good year wrong! PN-G's first test begins in about 5 hours
NDN79 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I know that PN-G has been tested twice so far, and more than PASSED the test. I don't care if anyone believes or not--ALL true PN-G fans believe and that is all that matters!! One week at a time INDIANS--SCALP'EM!!
