no, i didn't say i dislike them, i said may dislike. I was making a pt, that there is nothing to be jealous about vidor football. When was the last district championship. When was the last playoff trip. The only way to make someone jealous, is to be a winner.

are you serious??? where is this elitist attitude you talk about? all of the posters that normally follow vidor are glad they have a good team and hoping to make the playoffs this year. i cringed when dave campbell picked vidor to win district. he definitely did them no favors. he brought people out of the woodwork saying that vidor fans are elitist which could be nothing further from the truth. the vidor fan's comments on this board for the most part are well thought out and optimistic but definitely not cocky.

But ya know, playing a weak preseason schedule MAY NOT be all that bad.  I remember thinking the same thing in 99' when PNG played the SAME Kelly High school, and barely won, but went on to have a great season.  And the rest of their pre-season was not that strong either.  Who knows, maybe those big wins give the players/coaches more confidence each week, and they step up, because of it.

But, as far as the 11 men on each side theory goes, do you think UT would gain ANY respect if the scheduled Lamar for 2010?  Not a chance.  In fact, it could possibly hurt their BCS standings because of the sheer ridiculous-ness (is that a word?) of the game.

So, man-up VHS, put in ear plugs, play the best you can play, and let the cards fall where they may.............and enjoy the ride

TEAMFIRST, I have decided,  if your not a Vidor Hater, You must be a miserable S.O.B,  You have said nothing but negative comments towards this Vidor team.  They are young men giving their best every Friday night, just like all the other teams.  May I suggest, if you don't have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all..

I have nothing against Vidor, I respect the kids and the program!!! Excuse me for putting facts on the board.  Vidor has not been a winning program regardless.  And to say that they are better than WB (AND I HATE THE BRUINS) is silly.  And to bet he they are better than WOS after a scrimmage is ridiculous, and they still have not beat CHS ever regardless of some close games.  Before I rank them higher the will have to St. Louis me (SHOW ME) like the L-Train has done!!!!  Ask the Lumberton fans I was just as hard on them!!! I know the lines are big and really good and I think this will be a competitive Vidor season, maybe the best.  But until I see it in the win column, I will be hard on my perception of them!!! Hate it or love it!!!

  Short, can you explain to me.  What this years group of young men and their accomplishment's thus far, have to do with last years team, the team before that, the team before that, etc,etc.,etc.. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  I  don't post alot, but I read alot.  There is a ton of negative comments toward this team.  Most of the comments about District Champs, State Champions, etc. are coming from outsiders,not true Vidor Fans.  Is it wrong to be excited and pumped up about your team, absolutely not. 

  The bottom line, this team has had no control over the history of Vidor football, schedule's,scores,wins,losses,etc., they can only control this year, and thus far has done a good job, these kids don't deserve all the negative comments.  They will be given their chance to prove the haters wrong and maybe the will.  Stats,rankings, and schedule's mean nothing.  That's why we play the games. 

  After rereading your posts, maybe I misread them, are you saying that WestBrook, WOS football is a better program overall, throughout the years or this years teams better than the present.  The unfortunate thing is we will never know.  So lets play the games.  GO PIRATES

This years group is just that--this years. As of now they have not proven anything at all---maybe they will. Good luck to them anyway.

I would like to take this time and opportunity to thank each and every one of the posters who have made this thread possible.  It sure has taken a lot of pressure off the WB Westfield game.  That thread was beginning to suck for us.  ;D ;D
